DF Spoilers / Re: Could Harry become a signatory to the Accords?
« on: August 08, 2021, 02:51:05 AM »
I'm not sure there's enough time before the BAT for them to organize enough. Harry can't lead them because of his conflicted interests. Murphy had the free time but she ded. Molly's got a job, Butters has a job. The Alphas are Wardens-types, not Senior Council-types.

And I don't trust Kumori Elaine far enough to her, so...
RIP magic users if both the White Council and Paranet are utterly subverted.

Harry personally? Probably wouldn't want to go for it (if he even can as Mab's minion). The Paranet? They're very much a group that could develop into something that signs onto the accords.

I agree, and I am looking forward to it. A Langtry versus McCoy showdown would be epic. Although, I think Jim's style would be more in the fashion of a divide and conquer scenario by the Black Council.
I mean, strongest spear vs strongest shield is a classic for a reason, it'd be fun to see, it's a shame that Harry would have to be cuffed to a wall or something to actually spectate it properly.

So Carlos said that if Harry steps out of line they will send Eb to take him out (or Eb gets executed)...  So obviously this is going to happen.  What do you see Eb doing?  Will he come after Dresden, get executed, or turn on the White Council?  If he turns on the White Council what do you see him doing?

Could we have a White Council civil war?
We're absolutely on track for a White Council civil war (hopefully with less offscreen action than the last two wars) and Ebenezar potentially defying the council is another potential spark flying through the air near the powderkeg.

At the rate things are going, I'm guessing that society might collapse entirely. If anything, she'll be asked by the surviving leaders to help recover what was lost, and she'll churn things out. But she'll probably be locked away, and nobody is going to have access to her.
I expect the ending will be a bit more optimistic than that.
Isn't Ivy the head of the Librarians?
She runs the Venatori/the Oblivion War, not the Librarians.

Or she could just go into hiding and fog the memories of the few people who do find her. Even if she does get pinned down by some faction, others will rally to her. Plus the only way we've seen to keep her captive is to isolate her in a semi-conscious state, which would make it difficult to get information from her.
I don't mean kidnappers (though she'd doubtless get a lot of those too) I'm talking about people legitimately paying for her services or begging for information.

A funny thought just occurred to me, the Archive has a day to day job outside of just being a neutral mediator, that job is basically sharing knowledge if she can (the premise of the Accelerated RPG being that Marcone commissioned her to write something up) so she can part with knowledge just fine if it doesn't clash with her neutrality agreement.

With the masquerade on track to collapse she's going to be known by more than just the supernatural side of things. Once this happens absolutely every culture that's ever lost stuff to attempted erasure and every historian in general are going to be knocking at her door demanding hundreds or thousands of books of content each.

She'd better have a spell for just pumping info straight into word documents because otherwise she's booked for the next 800 years minimum.

DF Spoilers / Re: Jim on character vs character

Does it have to be?  Odin is smacked, hard seemingly out, but he isn't.  Then as the Titan is about
to do something with it, his says a word and it explodes in her face and does so much damage that Lara and her ladies just happen to be there to kick it from her head from behind.  That screams set up.
I mean, he was out, he got up enough to mutter a word a few minutes later while Ethniu was dogpiled but he was firmly out of the fight besides that trick at that point.

I don't think anyone was pulling punches. The Eye was a threat to the laws of reality itself. Newtonian chaos was about to break out on Earth. There was no do-over for this. There was no going back to the benches to figure out what to do next.

I don't see the big guns playing five-rounded Russian roulette with reality so Harry could have a big moment.
On that note I do wonder what the long term effects of that are going to be. Are they going to find out that you can't rebuild skyscrapers toppled by the eye because reality is just broken there? Is Chicago just going to have to deal with super-ghosts and easy access by everything else from now on?

I agree with you. This was Titania at the height of her powers on the Summer Solstice. She did deflect the Eye which was awesome, and it was at night so it's possible she was weaker than the day. Those facts could make a difference in the fight but, if they could have won I think Titania, Odin, and the Erlking would prefer that to getting rag-dolled like trees in a hurricane.
Especially since Vadderung is still mad about getting ragdolled like that six months later.

I figure that if Michael didn't take him out the White Council definitely did when they heard that a Dragon got ganked and went to investigate everything related.

According to the RPG the answer is "down a random hole in the middle of a forest" and Bob's still a bit mad about it.

Yuillegan - I was not saying Rashid could not kill Harry - I was saying he could not kill Harry without a weapon that is not shown, or using magic against the Rules - which is what I referred to when I said he (Rashid) walks his own path - beyond the rules. I'm not sure even Eb or Langtry could stand against Rashid.

And I wasn't saying he would kick him out for being linked to the WCV as a BAD thing, but cutting him loose he may have to get allies like the WCV and being Winter Knight he brings the WCV closer to Winter. Not driving him away because you are against him - but putting him in the position where he becomes a liaison between the other two signatories. A job he likely does not take if he is still Council, and a regional commander of the Wardens. He has bigger jobs to do.
I mean if it comes time to kill somebody, he walks around with a great big stick and is quite good at knocking people out with sleep spells.

DF Spoilers / Re: Revisit this. Grey Counsel

Elaine is skilled, and a better touch than Harry - but does she have that kind of firepower, even if she wanted to? These seem heavy hitters, with Harry as low end.  I would not be surprised if the WC knows Elaine survived. they'd likely check the site of the fire, and lacking remains...  And the higher ups may have an idea of her power level.
White Night shows she can throw out some big punches when she needs to and says she's not far behind Harry in terms of pure power. Of course she probably wasn't Grey Council like you said, willingly sticking her neck into a budding White Council civil war is the opposite of staying off the radar.

Doubtful. Nobody but Harry knows Elaine is anything more then a minor practitioner, and even if they did, Elaine is the Anti-Harry- she's very busy keeping her head down and her nose clean and looking out for number one.

I can't see her joining a group like the Grey Council.
She's pretending to be a minor practitioner but she's still taken a fairly prominent role as head of the Paranet.
