DF Spoilers / Re: Molly's Doppelganger Ring Crafting
« on: August 25, 2020, 10:49:58 AM »
If Mab knew that Ethnui would start a fight at the peace talks then it could be for Mab? Winter must have expected the Fomors to betray them in some form, so having Mab secure by her only being present via dobbleganger would be one way to reduce the risk significantly.

My main argument is still that if you read the short story bombshells you cannot be surprised that not too many people show up for a rematch.

It would be a good start of her hate of immortals just living among humans instead of being worshipped. And one for why Chicago should be the first city to be destroyed.

From a, I want that man to be my man, point of view, that he has with his own free will become someone else's man does not make it any better (I think)

That could actually be a pretty good point. They won't be with her, but are both with Mab instead.

Just a thought, it would not really have helped Lara to have a favour left at demonreach. When Harry had imprisoned Thomas, what would she do with it? Ask him to take him out and let him die on the beach? She could have avoided Harry using Thomas as leverage after the Fomor fight, but the main advantage of the leverage would be during the Fomor fight anyway.

I noticed it too, it almost has to mean something because the change is so significant. I wish the books where not do far apart so I would not always be on doubt about these things.

That is a good point and makes good sense :-)

I love that she cast herself as the bears and Lara as Goldilocks in her threat :-D (I did not get when reading the book, only thinking it over afterwards)

Regarding whether Thomas could contain Mab or not. I think if Harry could only just contain the earl king when he summoned him it is a safe bet that Thomas could not contain Mab. As far as I remember Harry is not at all confident in his circle when he summons Titania in Cold Days. More like, he is certain it cannot hold her. I think it is unclear if Molly could have left the circle of she really wanted to. She could not just step out of it, but might have been able to fight her way out of it if she really wanted to.

It seems like with the really powerful beings most of the time the circle is more of a compliment to their power than an actual attempt to contain them.

I was just thinking that Nic was a lot more likely to damage her knight that Lara, but he did not get a warning. Then again the situation was of course very different. I just think it is the first time she has ever warned anyone that she will be angry if they did something bad to Harry.

One thing that seems a bit odd to me was that Mab threatened Lara not to eat Harry. But maybe that was just normal winter marking territory and not Mab protecting Harry.

My wife was completely certain by six weeks both times.

I have tried typing out answers on why it makes sense Harry does not suggest abortion. But l can't detail it more and not make it more personal than what is appropriate for a forum discussion. So I will just leave it at the factual info above.

DF Spoilers / Number of participants at the peace talks (spoilers)
« on: August 04, 2020, 10:22:31 PM »
So some people has wondered; why were there not more members of the accords present at the peace talks? My guess is because they knew it would not end in peace. The Fomor are widely know for their betrayals (according to bombshells) and the last time they wanted to have peace talks in bombshells
(click to show/hide)

Any supernatural nation with just a tiny bit of caution in them would stay away. Unless they were forced by being a semi democracy of pansies (the white council), sticklers for following the rules (swartalves), figures it was the event of the century and had to be watched (Ivy) or some other very compelling reason.

At least I think there is a very good reason to stay away.

DF Spoilers / Re: [PT Spoilers] Why Wait?
« on: August 04, 2020, 10:18:29 PM »
If Ethnui was powerful enough not to need it, why the big setup to land the suckerpunch on Mab? I mean, in real life terms kicking someone who does not see it untill just before it connects is pretty hard.

If a good karate guy sneaked (out of my class) sneaked up to me (who knows just a little karate) under a veil and kicked me I would not be standing up after he had done a bit of talking. Maybe I would never stand up again if he kicked me in the head.

My point being that she is strong enough to suckerpunch Mab. Which is shockingly strong, no doubt about it. But I think some people read too much into it.

I think bringing up abortion is an easy way to be sure you never have to talk together again, no matter the circumstances.

I think the real world equivalent of this dilemma is almost exactly the same thing and I cannot see bringing up abortion as ever ending well for anyone outside of the relationship, except a purely professional relation (e.g. the doctor).

The fact they they will most likely never ever get another kid is not making the subject any less touchy.

On the what of it is not Thomas, but a shape shifter; I don't think it is the case, but if it is that person is really hardcore. Facing being imprisoned forever and not flinching takes a lot of nerve.
Also, I think Jim said once that Grey could probably become Harry to a degree that he could use some or all of his wizard powers, bit that the transformation would be so complete that Grey would effectively be gone forever. Of course only Lara knows if that is the case, since she fed him and could have faked that. Then the charge would be to uphold the illusion.

With that being said, I don't think it is odd that she charges him. It seems a fair amount of people on the forums reasons that if you get to a certain position of power and responsibility all your actions will be well reasoned out and emotions will never affect that reasoning. So far the only ones in the series who seems to live up to that inhuman ideal are (suprise) the ones that are not human in any way. I guess the angels are the best, maybe only, example.
