Yeah. That's South Dakota. ;)

There's D&Ders but not much else around where I am. It's not my style. :)

According to the map, Brookings is about an hour away? MAGE (http://www.mage-page.com) runs some game days there, about one a month, I think. Brookings also has a groovy game store that I think gets some activity, with a used book store that stands next to it!

The stores that run Friday Night Magic might also have some RPGers. Are some of them around Huron? :D

South Dakota?

I'm in Southwest Minnesota.

On the (slightly official) college gaming club bulletin board I have a list of places (around MN but I think South Dakota also) gaming people and areas.

Or I could just suggest them here. ;) Ever heard of MAGE?

Stealth, sort of kind of. It also might be too much to use. I have a / where the wit just adds verve to it. :)

"I kept on moving toward my car, and heard footsteps growing closer, behind me. I told myself not get too jumpy. / Maybe it was just some other frightened, endangered, paranoid sleep-deprived consultant who had been called to the morgue in the middle of the night." - Death Masks, Chapter 5

Fun! Let us begin...

Driving:

"As a rule, when I drive, I drive very carefully and sensibly. Tonight was an exception to the rule." - Grave Peril, Chapter One

Banyan Tree MUX. http://oz.mushpark.com/

There's also Battlestar Pacifica, sort of kind of.

I play on a multitheme MU currently and it's frustrating on occasion. Smaller scales look really intriguing. :D

(City on the Mists? What's the address?... :)

Author Craft / Re: Writing every day
« on: January 03, 2007, 04:19:49 AM »
I've written 500 words a day for ... several years. This semester, I'm planning to leap it ahead and do 1000 a day. Every frelling day. Even during college. 2000 or more seems to be professional level, so I have to hurry up. :)

Background material counts on occasion. Usually, it's all on the novel. If I edit the story, oh well; I have to get the bloody thing written.

It usually means I write five days of the week, for whatever reason, and brood elsewhen.

DFRPG / Re: Side Topic: Music for RPGs

Lord of the Dance or Riverdance.
Castlevania music... Symphony of the Night especially rocks.
I've heard some people say the Alien soundtracks rock.

The Lunar: Eternal Blue music played during an RPG session I played in once, and it fit really nice. The game was Star Wars, but it was nice and hyper anyway...

I wrote a 40K novella the other summer... but I don't remember writing it. I think I wrote it on pure instinct. :)

But right now? 100K, been writing it for more than a year, and I have about four chapters to complete it. That feels really frelling weird. It feels hyper and ... nervous?

Oh hey, thank you very much! These are really good. I've been looking for something more 21st century-ish and the Canadian factory and Toronto Subway looks perfect. :)

Groovy! You're welcome. There's more from the links there, too. :)

No, they're  more...well, you can see in the picture.

I see one! Maybe someone stole the other one. Not me, though.

And seeing the words "Slightly kooky" under a picture of Boreanaz as Angel is just...right in so many wrong ways. ;)

Thank you thank you. :D

It's sort of a suitable phrase for we socially awkward hermit types. ;)

Yes! Nerdfury! Much cooler than fanwank.

And... I think Dresden Blackthorne sounds similar to Dresden Marsters too. I don't think it's a VO, but I don't have the Ear of Mickey. Hmm. Are they big and round?

Edit: Fun with capitalization

I don't usually listen to music since I could get distracted by sound. I'm better at visual stimuli, so I surf for CG pictures. There's just something about other people's 3D artwork that gets my inspiration working. Savinoff's, Kagaya's, Lacoste's or in galleries like TerraEscape and CG Society. Often I download them, print and laminate, in case of a blackout and I can't access the PC... :)

My background picture usually connects to the novel that I'm working on...

I'll give you a link, as I'm subscribing to this thread as those 3D sites look great. :)
Urban exploring websites - http://www.infiltration.org/ have a lot of abandoned places pictures. I think the color ones look cooler than the black and white ones, but they're all pretty useful.

I play one or two games on mine, also, but I do my best to keep it clear of stuff.  The games are mainly for when I'm at Perkins and need a break from writing.

I have a few games on mine for LAN parties. But other than them, it's only for writing. :D

I forget about this question about someone asks it. But it's one of my favorites. :D

I write in my room. My parents got me a writing desk with a few drawers a long time ago and I have pretty much everything around on it. I use the laptop more like a desktop when I'm writing. But on one side, there's the Gobstoppers, CDs and the headphones; on the other side, there's the dictionary, the thesaurus and the flash drive.

The music's usually instrumental, whether classical or techno.

Of all of the stuff, though, it's the swivel chair that really gets me in the mood. I need to roll it around the floor to rejuvenate my thinking. :D
