Yet.  With great power comes great blahdiblahdiblah. Definitely potential for a Fall, especially if someone approaches him with sufficient incentive, the way Harry leans on Butters for medical care.

Yep, and now the questions become, "Did the PCs cause the fall or are they just witnesses to it?" and "Can they prevent it?"

Anyway, in thinking about how to go about making this guy, I more or less came up with a full set of stats. So instead of waiting to be asked, I'm posting the taxidermist necromancer now

There's a really dirty trick here if he hasn't killed anyone, read any minds, controled any minds, or transfomed anyone he hasn't broken any of the Laws of Magic.  He's just really really creepy.

However it wants to  :P

1) Why does Michael call him "Blood of the Dragon, that old Serpent"
I believe Michael calls Marva "Blood of the Dragon" - leading to our speculation that since Dracula son of Drakul "started the Black Court as teenage rebellion", that Drakul is a half-dragon scion.
Yeah, it was Mavra, my bad. I think the actual quote you're referencing though is that Dracula "went to" the Black Court as a kind of teenage rebellion, though, he didn't "start" it -- the black court predates Dracula by a long while.

I'm pretty sure "Blood of the Dragon, that Old serpent," is a reference to Revelation 20:2 (KJV).

"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,"

I can see a few possibilities here.  There's also a large possibility of forshadowing on Jim Butcher's part.

1) Michael was speaking metaphoricaly and just calling Marva evil in a really cool way.

2) Michael is implying that Drakul is either a dragon or spawn of a dragon

3) Michael is implying that Drakul is either the Devil or spawn of the Devil

4) Michael is implying that Drakul is the spawn of the Devil and a dragon.  (Run fast, run far, don't look back, and hope you're wearing dark brown pants. :) )

I've got  a question thats been bugging me for awhile, why was that Dragon (who from all the WoJ and such I've read could very well be the most powerful entity we have seen to date) at Bianca's party???

That's a very good question.  I have a feeling we won't find out until the BAT.  Everyone at the party got a gift from the Black Council.  We don't know anything about what his was except that it fit in a box.  With him being so powerful, I'm half wondering if he took the gift for simply staying out of their way rather than being a fully allied.  If not, I think Amoracchius will get another notch in it scabbard  :D

DFRPG / Re: What to do with my Lawbreaker Wizards Apprentice

He's broken the law in action.  However, he was working with the information he had not the information he needed, it was in defense of another, and he is still an apprentice so he should be able to swing the Doom of Damocles to be put on him and his old master may not want him anymore.  There are enough literalists on the Council that you could probably give him a good scare, though.   :D

Just to let you know, there's some IG info on Las Vegas here.  Jim Butcher isn't currently planning on taking Harry to Las Vegas so the Evil Hat team is working on it for the Paranet supplement.  Fred said something in the pod cast about the entire Strip being neutral ground on the pod cast.

Vampires trying to a eat fairy would annoy the fairies respective court as the power of each fairy is tied up into the power of entire court itself and as we have seen in the novels anything that affects the balance of power in either court causes immediate bloody reprisals. Eating a Winter Fairy would to some degree literally be stealing power belonging to Maab nether a good idea.

Could they eat Wyldefey without worrying about politics?

I would think WCVamps have the most restricted feeding of the vamps.  Blood is blood, although feeding off blood that becomes extoplasm or is tainted(ghouls) might be bad.  A WCvamp may not be able to feed off of Black Court Vamps due to lack of sex drive(Ms Ducks poetry aside)  Depression however might work but the lack of life force in the undead suggests no altogether.  The same goes for Red Court Vamps, do they have life force?  How about the Fey, they likely do, but is a soul life force?  I forget?

The only problem I see with vampires eating each other would be a RCV trying to feed off of a BCV.  No Blood = No Food.

I'm pretty sure that WCV can feed off of anything that has emotions and a BCV can feed off anything that has a lifeforce.  A WCV could eat a BCV but I'd give a House Raith or Skavis vampire a bunch of penalties to feed off of a BCV unless there were some very interesting aspects in place and they probably wouldn't enjoy the aspects they'd get afterward from eating necromatic energy.  As Bob put it in Grave Peril, "You are what you eat."

On the subject of eating fey, I think any of them could eat Fey but they could end up with some fey aspects.  See the Bob quote above.

Indeed, thanks for doing the paranet supplement.  I myself would not mind supplements that came out a year after each novel that updated the Dresdenverse's stats.

*Just had a vision of a desperate Nic with his unwelcome abundance of unhosted coins setting up a table, finding a host for a coin then wailing in horror as the new, prospective host walks over to one of those vending machines that mashes the coin flat while imprinting some kitschey phrase into it...*

I really want to see Harry do this, especially if he can do it in front of one of the bigger Denarians

DFRPG / True Hope
« on: February 04, 2011, 08:45:13 PM »
Hi All,

I have a plenty of examples of True Love (John 15:13) and True Courage (House Malvora is advised to avoid fire fighters, police officers, returning veterans, and Gurkhas) but I'm having trouble thinking of examples of True Hope.  May I ask for some examples?

I apologize if this has been brought up before on these boards.

DFRPG / Re: My Villain Cries When He's Out of Fate Points
« on: February 04, 2011, 08:32:38 PM »
I took a page out of another game.  My main villain has an aspect "reoccuring villian", and instead of conceeding I invoc for effect so he can escape.  I also give everyone in th party 1 fate chip when I do that to make it fair.

Thanks, I am going to use this :-)
