Keep it civil y'all. If you can't respect another poster's perspective, stop posting.

Awwww, thank you, Iago!  :) :)

I'm a firm believer that when someone has attained an achievement that's utterly ridiculous that it should be named after them.  ;) ;D

I wonder if he wrote that all out back in 2012 or if he updated it?

I wrote all of the tiers out back in 2012 (tho the "The Dina" bit is a more recent addition to that tier's preexisting Singularity text).

yea I get it, we're your burden now. not cost efficient or streamlined enough. Just hope this taking on more of a burden than am willing to see through is just your schtick and not Jim's... I mean, it LOOKS like we had 44 thousand people sign up the same year we last got a book, the most of any previous year... I guess you'd know that won't be a thing anytime in the future or a focus of it?

This has nothing to do with the books. (I also think the number of folks signing up isn't a high value statistic as there's a vast quantity of nonparticipants making up that number, not to mention the spammers and so forth.)

I'm also done responding to posts with that kind of tone.

I don't think I ever expected someone to reach it when I configured it, but I'm not surprised who's almost there. :)

Hmmph, hardly looks dead to me...

"Dead" vs "Using up a large amount of resources to serve a very small population"

Thanks for bickering like children, folks! The "when will I decide that the forum is no longer worth the trouble when folks can just bicker with each other on other social media instead" counter has ticked up by one.

Thread locked.

This thread is triggering reports to moderators because people can't be civil with each other about their disagreements. I have no time to read the thread and judge the fitness of such complaints, so I'm just killing the thread now.

Grow up or leave, please.

How about instead of folks yelling at each other about imaginary shit, I just shut this thread down.

If you can't be civil to one another, leave the forum.

That's a correct assumption, LeviathanZero. :)

Folks, a few things:

1) In your individual replies, make sure to provide enough context for anything you're saying so someone coming into the thread right at your post doesn't have to guess whether or not you've stayed on-topic to the subject line you're posting under / the original post that started the thread. i.e., if you don't explicitly say you're talking about the system from the book itself, you're safely assumed to be talking about the system from the book itself even if there's an earlier reply from you where you started talking about stuff that's not in the book itself. Every reply has to stand on its own.

2) Avoid using language of judgment when discussing others' ideas. I get why something might seem like "complex silliness", but labeling someone's idea as silly is a commitment to getting off on the wrong foot with them.

3) There is no number three.

4) It's the internet. Text has no tone. Read charitably at all times; if something's gotten up your nose, there's a solid chance it wasn't aimed there, so back off and cool down and try to see if your own side of the interaction is what positioned your nostril in the line of fire.

Carry on.

Something else I noticed about the pdf, while the main text is searchable, none of the statblocks are.

It's possible that's due to some blending of transparency elements together with text elements. Not sure if it can be addressed, but we'll see.
