Well, for what it's worth, we do get distributed into Canada via Lion Rampant. So if your retailer does business with them...

Those international shipping costs really suck. Not blaming you in any way, just as a general statement. Though who could resist those dice? Precious dice.   :D

Yeah, unfortunately this is really a "we take the suck, and pass it on to you!" sort of situations -- international shipping is an absolute dire mess here in the States. Makes me sad. This was the best compromise we could find! Well, that and making sure to list international retailers and distributors towards the end of the project page. :)

DFRPG / Fate Dice kickstarter is afoot! also, DFRPG in ePub/Kindle

Folks tell me that it sure looks like the set we're going to reveal at $30,000 will be a Dresden Files themed set, but who am I to say? ;)

Personally I think the already-revealed sets go great with DFRPG play already...

And in other news, we're in the middle of rolling out epub (nook) and mobi (kindle) formats for the Dresden Files RPG. You can already find them on the Evil Hat webstore. We've stripped out most of the graphics and inventive formatting, so this is a largely text-only experience; licensing prevents us from bundling it together for prior purchasers, unfortunately -- but the good news there is that due to the "stripped down" presentation, we've priced these versions very cheap.

Enjoy :)

What do you guys get (if anything) from that?  If I buy other stuff (non-Butcher) from there if I use the link then purchase can the forum/site get additional credit?

Buying stuff through the links found on jim-butcher.com does indeed get us a small referral fee payout. We use those fees to cover site maintainence costs.

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Signing in Kansas City, MO 11/29/12

I just got my call.  They said Jim got sick on the plane home, touched down and went to the hospital.  It will be rescheduled.  You can still pick up your book at the event.

This is confirmed. There's a post up on the main site:

Yeah, it looks like their server was not up to the impact of an appearance by Himself.

The new posting levels must've not inherited the permissions from the lower ones. I'll see what I can figure out.

Edit: Hopefully is fixed.

Sure. I'm draconian when it comes to spoiler protections, but recognizing that is part of why I turned the day to day forum running over to our gentler mod squad. :)

Feel like they'd belong in a general thread, as opposed to DF spoilers.

Only if you can 100% guarantee that the contents of all pictures in the thread won't spoiler the books.

It's very obvious to me from looking at the first page that that guarantee isn't supportable. :)

... Only if you think that costumes based on things in the books aren't appropriate to discussion of the books. :)

The topic guidelines in there are fairly soft.

« on: September 28, 2012, 04:55:04 PM »
Zero, there is a reason he put a spoiler tag there. You need to put a spoiler tag on your reply too, because it's giving away details to people who, like you, have not read all the books.

He didn't put the tag there, I did.

Folks: police yourselves. If it's not ollld news, err on the side of a spoiler tag.

Yep, it's sourced from jim-butcher.com, which is currently having DNS issues I'm trying to get my provider to fix.

It's an automated moderation behavior intended to prevent linkspamming (even when those links are legit). Someone should approve it soon enough.

Not crashing today ... dealing with my attempt to troubleshoot an apache (webserver) config issue. Should be all settled down now.

(Also, ended up ditching cloudflare usage for this site -- ultimately not all that necessary and with their denial of service induced problems, it was actually degrading our site performance instead of improving it.)
