DF Spoilers / FB Woj share(update)
« on: June 07, 2018, 01:31:56 PM »
Comes from a fan on the JBIT, said he met him today(yesterday now?) and asked a few questions
Quote
Sean Steinbarth  The questions I asked were:

1. How has the Oblivion War progressed since we last saw it in Backup?

Answer: Not at all. The Oblivion War goes decades without anything happening. The only way to portray it would be to do a series with timeskips.

2. Is Vadderung mortal? (Based on a WoJ from an interview video that has since been nuked from YouTube.)

Answer: Vadderung is mortal. . . Kind of.

3. Are Skinwalkers capable of procreation? (I wasn't specific with this one at first. Bare with me.)

Answer: No. They can't make something as big as they are, but they can make lesser beings.

Me: What about what about with mortals?

Answer: Ooohhh! Yes! They can do that. They can make scions. That's where Goodman Grey came from.

That one was for everyone who said skinwalkers were obviously incapable of procreation, due to being "genderless."
The nuking of old Jim videos is new to me, and troublesome...  an I guess we won't be getting another 100 pages on if Grey is a Scion ;p

So I went to a signing for Brief Cases with Jim Butcher tonight, and one interesting question came up that Jim answered a bit too gleefully for Harry's comfort. I'll have to paraphrase the question since I can't remember it exactly, but I can quote Jim's response:

Question: Can the three faerie queens give Harry conflicting orders?

Jim Butcher: "THEY CAN NOW!!!"

He didn't actually rub his hands together maniacally, but the smile on his face was slightly disturbing. So yeah, I guess there's that to look forward to (or dread).

DF Spoilers / Call for help
« on: March 30, 2018, 06:10:08 AM »
Was wondering if anyone here would like to help me delve deeper into my theories by pointing out things that need structured, questions that come up or other organization. Would need the ability to suspend disbelief in idea's not your own, ability to organize large bodies of information and abstract conceptualization.(so you can understand me lmao) Plan is for irregular intervals of work until I can get some steam going again... I lost a year of my time to video games when I finally bought a ps4(they announced a 5th the next day, go figure...) and am need of help getting on point again..

DF Spoilers / (false)peace and the second coming
« on: January 16, 2018, 09:01:25 AM »
So, in light of the fact I enjoy reveling in a new find and thought I should share it with others, I wanted to point out something and talk a little about The Antichrist/Biblical apocalypse, which is of course tied into the others(and I can prove it!)
Simply put, when the antichrist first rises he will sign a peace treaty and that will begin the 7 year countdown to the return of Christ. 3 1/2 yrs in the peace will prove false and we will have 3.5 years of living hell instead.
Peace Talks is book 16, the BAT kicks off roughly 3.5 years later(following the yearly schedule in books) and Ends 3.5 years more... Peace Talks is the first sign.
Now the precise person referenced and their exact connection as Antichrist is open for interpretation even after an actual peace accords because of the way the visage of antichrist is actually broken down... but it's very much a mix of Marcone and Harry. Divide known features of the antichrist between the two.(plus Nic as the seedier bits, the blasmphemer. I suspect Lara for my own reasons as well... yea, not female, whatever. I suspect more accurately she may be War's newest incarnation as it was used to strangle the WC)
Anyway... more of what we already know, the end is nigh and all that ;)
(and yes, I probably could make a deeper richer version, but would you believe me anyway lol?)

DF Spoilers / Making things on DR
« on: January 09, 2018, 01:53:57 AM »
So was watching a vid from salt lake comic con and someone asks about what would happen if Harry rebuilt LC on DR. His reply stated things built on DR tend to have a horrible energy attached to them... and I thought, did not Harry make his new supplies living ON DemonReach? Bad juju trapped in his working enchantments or just over thinking it?

DF Spoilers / Mac and the Mirror's
« on: December 16, 2017, 11:13:56 PM »
I had a kinda funny thought I just wanted to put into words. The whole Mirror realm/shadow replication thing has been my thing for awhile now in the DF. I've researched it from various angles and mythos. That part of what N does is find that mirror and/or use mirrors.
Anyway remembering the 'son of the chief Physician' idea and connecting the references, mainly from MS hanging around MW's cottage, Mort's Guardian's giving stability to the Insane ghosts(which i'd point out for my own reasons basically gave them a sanctum/home to live) and in DR's make up as well.
Long have I thought of TWC the spiritus mundi of reality, the one who dreams up it's existence/defines it's will(in this way reality is kinda just HIS sanctum)
Basically, Mac is 'out' and does not interfere, though he's actually inside reality... Nemesis is actively interfering though she is 'outside' reality. I think he surrounds himself in Mirrors as a way of balance for that fact. He's surrounded by Nemesis's medium in a place in a sort of wonky way for balance... anyway, had to say it

DF Spoilers / Nod from other fan sources.
« on: October 24, 2017, 05:18:45 PM »
Discovered a few tidbits and figured they were noteworthy
Empty Night- is a vampirology curse used to refer to bad hunting/no humans/prey an empty night for them. Considering WCV are known for this curse...
Little but fierce is a quote from Shakespeare's Midsommers Night (which connects Murphy to Fairies fyi, here's lookin at you raidem)
"game over" was used before SG, when Harry knows Billy is waiting to take out Cowl in DB.

DF Spoilers / What I know about Dresden Files, spoilers to end of books
« on: October 12, 2017, 04:25:10 PM »
Due to incessant trollage, ima lock this thread when i'm not adding stuff. PM me(except for you Firn, this isn't an invitation to take trolling to pm, and i'll answer your add and answer your questions here.

Since the end is nigh, I've decided to stop holding back anything I have on the DF's future timelines. So sparing myself any great build up or purpose in writing, if anyone has questions, chances are good I have answers.
1Nemesis in and beyond reality will manifest in 3 distinct forms, the Mother, Harry's own Mother turned immortal/angel/passed beyond into the role of N,(similar happened Slate to Hwwb4 if you examine the image he forced upon Harry in CD, this is why Mab drove him crazy, break his hold/understanding of reality) The Wife, which is mostly Elaine, But Murphy as the chooser starborn is probably infected to some extent even if it has no hold. And the maid, The little girl Marcone wanted to save is the original line N used to grip in reality. Wasn't intentional but it's pretty much the same aspect they used in the silent Hill movie, little girl injured gives way for the darkness to mirror her and use her free will. Her getting back into her body is going to be hugely bad.(they keep trying to take/mirror a crazy young woman who uses magic) Also Bonnie is easily seduced until she gains free will, she exists in an imbalance from Lasciel being locked away, Lasciel can use her as her form of influence right now.
2 Harry's DH on DR is going to have a larger purpose, after everything stops he's going to restart reality with his 'be' spell, sucking all life through the vortex and kickstarting reality back off again. In doing so he will become the 'soul' of old gods via a Nrylahotep existence as the gatekeeper himself, as he touches the alpha and omega... which is highly metaphoric for him being both the end and beginning of reality, just like original verse. GK knows so much because he's from the future, watching it all change and happen in his head from his 'history'.
3 My old theory of 5 jumps in MM to create pentagram in time... Harry ends up saving 5 versions of himself at least, These 5 are the 5 versions of merlin who make DR 5 times at the same time. they twist the timelines together like the stem of the life tree, which is representative of multiverse branch theory.
4 Bonnie kills Murphy because she doesn't understand pancakes are inanimate and ppl are alive. She then comes back bonded to Bonnie as Athena reborn. everybody always points at Valkyrie/Gard, but forget she's just one version the warrior princess archetype.
5 Marcone rises as KoTC because the one thing he'd do anything to save is that little girl who who became Nemesis' vessel, only with the redeemers blade is this possible.
6 Nic's purity is corrupted by Nemesis, so he's not pure evil anymore.
7 Mab's last favor is for Harry to kill her with Medea's Bodkin on the stone table, giving the power she holds as the last Guardian of everness... err reality
8 Mac is one of the previos ages walkers/horsemen, he and the rest of the team sit it out in favor of choice and freedom of will. When the Fae court, the KotC and the walkers become one again we will see the Horsemen as they originally were.
9Harry has to break every law of Magic so he can become the sponser for valid reasons to use it, ending it's inbalance in reality and negating N's current foothold similar to how TWC redeemed Sin as an unbalanced force to Gaia's dark Seraphim, Satan, whom was then replaced by Nemesis/Lilith.
10 Gawain is in DR as English guy, various clues all over, Woj on his shield which has a pentagram on it, his green/grey cloak equivalent of a wardens, Susan asking about if Michael was a sleeping Knight awaiting the day the world needs him. But mostly because when I originally busted this out Serak let more known in his blustered reply than he realized. Interrogation is easy when you have no linear brain but a lot of intuition lol.

11# after MM Harry wears the hat from the cover, due to timeline shifting/variances.
12 Mavra is trying to become a living goddess, Nemesis in reality by using the DH.
13Cowl is Justin in Simons Body, Elaine is a fine thrall, used her skills to break the wards to acquire a suitable body.
13 When Billy finds the lost Alpha's it will turn out one of them is Nfected/mirroring the rage demon aspect found in Denton. Also, the Alpha's represent the Odin connection to wolves while the 'Pack' from FM represent the dualistic opposite, that Odin dies by a wolf. So Harry has both side to the coin, just like Odin does there.

Quote
" My apartment is in the basement of a huge old, rooming house that somehow managed to survive all the Chicago fires"
First sentence, of second paragraph of Chapter 7, FOOL MOON
LC survived and will be used as a thaumaturgy connection to reach back through time/travel effect the past. The Build up all in one spot in was from arriving through it.

That's certainly not all I know, but seems enough for the moment.
Got questions? cause I got answers ::)

*i'd modify my profile but I honestly don't remember my passwords for any of this... Suffice it to say if we're going down I want ya'll to know,

DF Spoilers / Winter reacts
« on: August 26, 2017, 12:15:19 AM »
I said the actual /Ice/ effect was not a conscious choice, rather tapping into Winter Energy was.  He can tap teh energy consciously, but the energy itself has an elemental leaning/nature (as opposed to being generic magic energy that is shaped to an element by a wizard).

he never mentions drawing upon winter. So it's not a choice, at least consciously. Hence why I saw winter reacted. As it does not do the same unintentional results anywhere else besides when he's either consciously using the mantle, or intentionally loosing himself in it.
Sure he does, all the time (See CD exampled below). And in SG he spends some time speculating on how it might interact with his wizard talents, and that he fears relying on it too often.

In that last one he was literally just pouring Winter Energy into the water until it froze; normal mortal magic would have just been grounded out and diffused.

Lets get into a different thread for this though, dont want to derail the Entropy question on a discussion of mantle mechanics.
Well, if you wanna :)
That example isn't quite what I mean, that's him being surprised by what winter does, It didn't do anything out of the ordinary for winter once he drew upon it. Coating your fist everytime you went to throw a punch would be odd.. and show a subconscious acceptance of the Mantle I don't think Harry quite possess.
Are either of those quotes from when he sprinted at Shark Face and nailed him though? cause that's when it fails to show him drawing upon winter before the fact.

DF Spoilers / Butcher Battle #19: Michael vs Langtry
« on: July 29, 2017, 11:38:43 PM »
So PG question turns into Fight Night. Lets cut down the situation, Langtry proceeds to order Molly's execution anyway. Harry's promises to run with her and Morgan follows. Eb and GK wisely decide to stand aside and order all underlings to do the same, outweighing the Merlin's orders 2-1 Leaving Langtry ready to lash out directly to achieve his will. What happens next? You decide and tell us about why.

*removed other as it was being misapplied with the first reasoning, pls revote for that if that's your wish.

DF Spoilers / Denarians and White Council
« on: July 28, 2017, 04:39:54 PM »
So, I guess I never really considered this before. I usually lumped the cause of it to be similar to why the WC doesn't take offence at the Fae knights, they consider them beyond their power to police. But why is it 15 some books, various short stories, ect. I've never so much as seen a WC member acknowledge their existence? They are kept firmly in different books, without any reasoning what so ever to mention them, besides the fact they all repeatedly and gregariously violate every law they come across, 7 laws be damned. Nary a warning from EB or a question from Rashid. (despite the fact Harry was capable of slinging hellfire around the time his major ally was attacked with I). Any idea's why? two reasonings come to mind, neither of which are quiet satisfying to me.
1 From the viewers perspective, the WC are vulnerable to the depredations of the Nickelheads, so they avoid the hell out of them and vise versa to avoid giving the council a reason to go full tilt.
2 From the writers perspective, and the more likely reasoning in my mind due to the complete separation of topics. He pretty much just never crossed his story lines here. He created separate arcs with separate end points and caught up in all the little details, just missed the fact two factions largely ignore each other on and offscreen. Of course that could change at a later date, but I feel if PT is the accumulation of the WC story arc, they probably will never mix, i'm ok with that. But again, Nary a reference!?
Thoughts, idea's, opinions?
