Good, I really liked those chapters in Peace talks.

I enjoyed Zoo Day.  I like seeing the story from 3 different points of view, and Mouse is actually a great POV character.  Maggie needs to exist.  What else but his child being in danger would cause Harry to become the Winter Knight?  What else would make Harry willing to sacrifice Susan to destroy the Red Court?

As for help with Maggie, he has the whole Carpenter family.

What's going to be interesting is how will things work with Maggi's new step mom.

I think retaliation is likely. Mab isn't going to thrilled by what Drakul did, and Lara is definitely not a fan of the Black Court.

This isn't really the Dresden Files way of doing things, but retaliating would be pretty easy. All that would need to happen is for some one to figure out where Drakul and the Black Court elders are living, and for Lara to bone a drone pilot.  It might be easier than that, Lara would just need to tweet Drakul's location and say that the people who live there were involved in the terrorist attack on Chicago.  I'm pretty sure that @Draculasdad neglects his social media, so he wouldn't see it coming.

I haven't seen any of the animated things you're mentioning.  My exposure to animate entertainment has been limited to things involving Batman, Star Wars, South Park, and Ninja Turtles (not the newest one which looks really dumb to me).  Spider Man also, but to a lesser degree.  I also play PC games when I get a chance, and I consider the cut scenes to be animated.  I prefer a realistic style such as what you see in the star wars shows and to an extent the turtles show from 2012.

One thing that I've been impressed with is how The Mandalorian has been able to seamlessly take characters and plot threads from The Clone Wars and Rebels and transition them to live action.

Also CGI has gotten a lot better, faster to make, and probably cheaper in the 13 years since the first Dresden show.  I think one of the things Jim said about doing animated Dresden is that it would allow for some really epic battles and things that would be too costly for live action.  At least some of those epic battles may now be within reach for a live action show.

What I'm getting at is if you count CGI as a type of animation, the line between animated and live action has been blurring for a long time.  Hell we're having 3D models of dead actors being wrapped around people with similar physical proportions and having other people voice those characters.  That's similar to something animated.

I wonder to what extent people turned by the black court can exert there own will?  If I remember correctly Drakul says he's going to kill Harry after Harry is able to resist his will.  River is thousands of years old I don't think anyone would have much luck bending his will.  LTW can probably resist at least as well as Harry.

The question I have is, Drakul's actions could be taken as support for Ethniu, does that put him at risk for retaliation from other members of the accords?

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if some of River's people had the power and the knowledge to open a way.

DF Spoilers / Re: PEACE TALKS SPOILERS Rashid/Starborn Theory
« on: July 16, 2020, 08:56:34 PM »
I think Rashid is a star born, and that star borns are a double edged sword.

The council probably figured out that Harry was a star born pretty soon after he was captured.  Many of them still wanted to kill him.  Many still would be fine if he was dead.  My guess is that the council is like screw this Dresden guy, we've got our own star born.  Another possibility is that star borns can actually wield outsiders against people from our reality.  If Harry can bind them and banish them, why couldn't he have ordered them to go kill Marcone or something.  The council sees Harry as tainted, and a rogue star born is worse than no star born.

Either or both of the above could have played a part in the council's desire to off Harry.

Mira:  You are right that a lot of things can alter a person's recovery trajectory.  On it's own its something I just kind of shrug at.  When add in the fact that Harry doesn't remember going into the BFS at the end of Skin Game, and the fact that bad bigfoot is up and around in the real world, it makes me wonder if Skin Happened the way we think it did.  Of course what's on the page is on the page, but in SG we learned about the existence of alternate Harrys.  Is the Harry in Peace Talks the Harry that was in SG?

In reality its probably just an error.  Books go through so many revisions i'm sure its hard to track what ends up on the final page.

Sanya can simply have added muscle mass by working out.

The thing about Harry and the BFS is interesting since it happens at the end of Skin Game.  Another event that happened at the end of Skin Game that has now been changed was Murphy's prognosis.  She went from being able to recover up to 90% mobility down to 50%.  Come to think of it, Blood on His Soul is pretty much dead in Skin Game, but River says he's alive and out of Hades realm.

We also see the collection of other Harrys in Skin Game, and the book was originally supposed to follow Peace Talks was Mirror Mirror.

Hmm?

That is interesting, but I've always thought he was Heimdallr aka Heimdall.

Mac has been addressed as Watchman by Sharkface.  According to wikipedia he, "... keeps watch for invaders and the onset of Ragnarök while drinking fine mead..."

Jim said we will probably learn more about Mac during the BAT.  Ragnarök is the Norse apocalypse.

I don't think Jim said that the Oblivion war wouldn't be in the main series, just that Harry would never find out about it.  Any time we see Ivy, we're seeing the Oblivion war.  Hell, I wonder if some of the outsiders are losers of the Oblivion war.

If you think about it, Lara was doing the opposite of feeding.  She was feeding Thomas her energy.  I don't think there would be any need for the wampires to have evolved a warning about that.

Nice to have you here Brak.

I wondered about Bob too.

I think the important thing about conjuritis is that it's something magically gifted children get.  Harry lives with a child who might be magically gifted.   As we've all learned, Maggie can be an asymptomatic carrier.

I had the same thought Darth Spot did.  I don't think its likely, but who knows.
