Hi Regen! It was hilarious about the beetles.
Well, I am glad your mom is better but yes, she needs to have her meds doses fixed by an specialist, so I hope she can do it soon. Meanwhile, I imagine a healthy diet and some relax should help.
Today is our Independence Day. It is not cold at all, I think we have 17°C too! And it is also sunny so it feels great. I am having a pastry that is quite traditional this day. "Pastelitos". I am not sure how to describe it, so here is a picture. https://tn.com.ar/resizer/v2/pastelitos-de-membrillo-y-de-batata-un-clasico-criollo-foto-instagram-manhattanpanaderia-VWUSOFYR75E7TIB6HLLNARL64Y.jpg?auth=a703cc46be87649c6416a4201678ac2fc797f1ff90d20c7e64d4aacd563031de&width=1440There are fried things, filled with something sweet, generally quince or sweet potato (sometimes other options). There is a mock battle in Argentina between team quince and team sweet potato. I am definitely team quince (which does not mean sweet potato ones are not yummy too, only I prefer the quince version). That said, I am not such a fan of pastelitos either, I like one occasionally but that is all. But the other traditional sweet thing for July 9 are churros with hot chocolate. We passed on the chocolate today, but we bought some churros, and that is something I definitely enjoy, especially the dulce de leche filled variety. Take that, Spaniards
