Well, there is still hope for Germany  :).
About concursos, yes, you are right. Generally, in-between those three years there are other chances, that are not regular. That means, they can be for shorter times  and they count a little less in your CV. But they pay you the same.

When you read your first thing in Spanish, tell us how you found it. I suspect you will do a great job.

Ok, I am so nervous...just un hour to the beginning of the match.

Excellent about duolingo. We could write a little in French (I have it quite rusty, but I can say some things). I love French but that probably helps your point.
Glad about your cows and puppys!
I have not idea about the show as I did not watch it but I do remember for the promos that they ran and ran as if the field was kilometers long. I do remember the main character was called Oliver, at least here, so perhaps that helps you. Since i did that post I learned that apparently there is a modern, more violent animé called Blue Lock with Japanese young men enduring horrible training to become better at football. So everyone is saying Blue Lock is real, and it works.

My hubby is far from good but he is much better than last year, so that is something. Thanks for asking.

I am also still having struggles at work but it is all right. i'll survive. I have a "concurso" soon, for my main position. What is a "concurso" you ask, well, at the university, we have to validate our position every three years (more or less, the date can be a little fluid, in the sense that it could be more than three, but not less). At my university we have 2 kinds of jobs: simple or exclusive. Simple people only have to teach, and they have to work only a few hours a week, it is a half-time job which, of course, is not a well-paid job. Then, exclusive is full-time and in addition to teaching, you have to do research. That is my current job that I need to validate. Well, how to do that? All people who have a job and those who wants to have one apply to the concurso. A jury evaluates the antecedents (production of papers, books and such, years teaching, course, things like that) and then there is the "opposition" where every person teaches a small class. It's like 15 minutes, or 20, where you have to explain an exercise, or a practice the students have to do, something like that. Well, all that is evaluated, and a merit order list is created by the jury. Of course, those on the top, got the job.
So yes, it is pure stress! I do not know when we have to do the opposition class, but we already presented the applications, so it will be soon, or in February (January is the Summer recess here).
So, that is, stressful times.

Edited: We won!  :D
But hubby's computer is acting again. it is complicated, we may need to change it too soon. But ey, we won. That is what matters today.

Sorry. I did not watch the match either, but everybody told me about it. There are some jokes around, involving the animé Captain Tsubasa (which is about football, of course).
Well, this sucks, but eh, this is just beginning.

It was truly awful. We did like 4 goals in off-side. Our team has not idea how to play with the new automatic off-side detector, or so it seems. Arabia did a very good match. I cannot tell you how depressed I am, even when I know it is just a game. World Cup is very important for Argentinians, and for me, it always have been. I remember watching it with my long gone parents, decades ago, and it matters a lot to me.

I am pretty sure you will win, so do not worry.

Hello everyone!
We had very hot days but Saturday we had a nice rain, and the temperature dropped. Sunday and Monday were moderately rainy (cloudy all day, just some periods of rain) and today is mostly sunny. Temperature is lovely since Saturday night, with cool nights.
And today, Argentina lost and I am so intensely sad. But well, life goes on.

Ohhh! Yes, that would be wonderful with the glow-in-the-dark effect. And of course you call that model Bob. There are only a couple of valid names for a skull. Bob, Ghost Rider, Murray (Monkey Island), Manny (Manny Calavera, from Grim Fandango), Yorick, and perhaps some character from Coco or Book of Life. I think for any member of this forum, Bob is the clear winner  ;D

We turn on the AC for the first time after the Summer today. Technically, today is less hot than yesterday, but my flat has some thermal delay. We were suffering today the heat of yesterday, so we decided it was AC time.

Hello everyone!
I had a busy week myself, sorry I was not here a lot.
@Regen, I am so glad your work is going well and you have less headaches. And you will soon caught up with the new stuff.
I admit to have had a laugh at your previous boss expense  :). It was good.
And about the painting, I admit I would not be brave enough to have a glow-in-the-dark skull over my bed. But if you do, I hope you have fun with it!

A pentagram sounds wonderful! And so you.

Oh, how lovely. So there is still something left that he made himself. I wouldn't repaint it either.
Exactly  :)

Sounds great!
When I was a child, my dad painted me a whale and some sea waves. I loved her. She was repainted a couple of years later...and the repainted version still exists. Only it is hidden under a couple of wardrobes. The room is no longer mine, hubby and I slept in the main room and that one is sort of a store room. But I was not able to erase the whale.

You could do some night-appearing abstract design for your own room. Or use a stencil to paint something to feel comfortable with...think it is over your bed, so perhaps not a person looking down at you  :D

Ohh, that is wonderful about the night sky!

I am sure you will find a way to cover the old sun rays (by the way, that sounds lovely. I am sure her room was beautiful and the most important thing is it is full of love!). Let us know how that works about the nocturne sky.

I am sure it is very tiresome to paint everything with the furniture moving and all that, but it will be worthy if makes micro happy.

Hello people!
How is everybody doing?
I have no big news but as my university changed the bank that is paying us our salary and as a welcome (and to keep us) the new bank is giving us some money in the credit card. So I bought a new cellphone (which I was in dire need). It is in six payments, but nearly half of the total sum is covered by the bank "gift". So I am happy, even when I am still getting used to it.

I thought you might like it  :)
I am very glad to hear it was a good one. I heard of Trigun but i never watched it or anything, i do no even know what it is about.
I wish you luck finding a DVD player, and congrats for your new TV! We have a new one this year too because the other had begun malfunctioning. Coincidentally this is a World Cup year, so the TV will be of good use  :)

Hi Regen! We have the same expression (but with 2 words) at least since I was a child, I do not know if it existed before. It is to feel "vergüenza ajena". which is literally "shame from others", in the sense of "belonging to others".

I am glad you liked it. And those reasons you mentioned are one of the reasons I never read a She-Hulk comic (the main reason though was that I was never a fan of the original Hulk in the first place. Not in the comics. I did watch the TV show when I was a small child).

I began watching (episode 1/8 so far) an old show which is an spin-off of other show I watched before. The original one was called The Bletchley Circle and it is a fiction loosely inspired by the real life work of Alan Turin and his group as code breaker. This show was about female code breakers, her job and how they were dismissed in their everyday lives, as they could not tell what they were doing. In the show they began solving crimes after the war, with their talent to detect patterns and their logical mind. And the spin off I am watching now, Bletchley Circle San Franciso is about two of those women who join two American women to solve a serial killer case (or more, I am not sure yet). I am liking it so far.

This I can imagine. It wasn't so far in the past.

I visited the ducks yesterday. One of the old ones is still there. And there are about 10 ducks now. At least 5 male and 5 female. We fed them some oats. It was just me and Micro. The others were still asleep, lol.

We finished She-Hulk yesterday. It was so much fun.

About the movie, yes, I have a lot of memories, and the real speech of the prosecutor at the moment still gives me goosebumps. The actor did a really good job summoning the mystique of the moment. It is a historical landmark for us. Our own Nuremberg of sorts.

I am glad you and micro had a good time with the ducks. And, as I recommended it to you, I am super happy you enjoyed She-Hulk. The ending was hilarious.
