Congratulations about the family news, especially mini's internship. I am sure you will miss having her around all the time, but at least Denmark is not too far away from you.
Hello Don! I am so pleased you came back. I am doing well except for some health issues that are not terrible but not ideal. For example, I had a very high blood pressure, so we are trying a new drug and last Wednesday I did the horrible 24 hours pressure measuring thing. I hope it worked (I mean, it had correctly readings. I had some bad experiences about that). It was not so bad. Also, hubby and I are recovering from some cold and both of us still have an annoying random coughing.
I've been dictating some classes I don't usually do, so it iwas fun. And this week I have to evaluate some doctorate students (they have a plan, and they around half of it, so we have to evaluate if they are doing well, if we think they are going to finish in time or perhaps they should change some things, we do some suggestions, things like that.
TV and movies: I watched Wednesday, i liked it. This season more than the first one, I believe. I also watched Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which was a hit of miss with some good episodes and some terrible ones. I also watched two super heroes movies to comment here. Thunderbolts (Marvel) and Superman (DC). Thunderbolts was ok. No pretensions, not big deal. Superman was...pleasant to watch but too many things had no sense, and I was not delighted with some casting (but I am ok with Superman and Lois). Also, there is Krypto!
Last, I watched two more serious/darker shows. The girlfriend, which was very disturbing but interesting and well done and We were liars, which was mesmerizing. I liked it.
And yay! the book is coming! I heard JB was in a conventions these last days.

Sorry to hear about the blood pressure issues. I hope the new meds are working. It's been a few weeks, how is it now?
And yes, I try to sign on once every year or so just to let you all know I'm not dead yet. I wish the others would do the same, but that's life.
Dina:
Am I am so thankful you logged!
The 24-hs thing worked and revealed that my diastolic pressure was often high, but not so much the systolic one, which was...not what I expected. The doctor added another medicine, this time a diuretic one, but in a mild dose, I think. I have to make a new appointment in 2 weeks. I had not checked my pressure since then.
JB began writing Mirror Mirror! In his official page it says he is 14%. Also, there is a Twelve Months' first chapter sample somewhere. I read it. This is going to be a difficult book to read.
Don:
Wishing you the best. I hope the medication does its job and doesn't interfere with your daily life.
I'm starting to see the beginnings of aging. I had two teeth shatter in less than 6 months. I got one fixed and I'm having the other one pulled next week.
I'm gonna go try to find that sample chapter, and I'm really excited to see he's going straight to another Dresden book. Mirror Mirror is going to be good.
Dina:
Thank you!
Sorry about your teeth. It is very annoying. I lived the same in the beginning of the pandemics (one a few months before and had the piece removed, the other broke a few months later, already in lockdown, so I waited like a year and had it removed too). It has not happened again, so I hope you don't have to face that again (at least in many years).
Becoming old is not fun.
In the DF spoilers section of this forum is a thread with the link to the chapter. And yes, I think MM will be good too. I have the feeling JB was looking forward to it.
I have to work now, see you later (((((((((Don)))))))))))))
Regenbogen:
Hi, weird!
@Don
Sorry about your teeth. Has the other one been pulled out yet? Do you use some prosthetics to hide the gaps or are they not visible from the front?
@Dina
I hope you adapted well to your new medication for blood pressure.
I have to agree about getting old not being fun, though I am younger than you. I already feel that the floor is so deep down and once you got there, it is hard to get up again, lol. Also my eyes started to get worse. So far I noticed that I just need to take off my glasses when I want to read something small, but doing so too often causes me headaches, because my left eye has always been worse than the right one.
I might need some other glasses soon. So sorry for any typos escaping my notice. I literally can't see them as well as I used to, lol.
The cats are well, my mother is a bit better, my husband is still struggling with some virus which is not Covid. We like to give other diseases a chance, too.
Da Vinci just came in and demands some scratchy time and food.
Micro's bed will be gone on Saturday, so we'll have to replace it the same day. If there is no time, or it is not available, Micro will gave to sleep on her mattress until Monday.
She already chose her new one, we just have to drive to Ikea and hope they have it in store. I think, the bed won't be a problem but maybe the matress, because it is not the one that usually belongs to this bed.
I've read the new chapter, too. I am sooooo excited and also that he is progressing with Mirror Mirror.
I started to read the 3rd and last book of the Ever&After trilogy. The one I told you about with the descendants of fairy tale heroes. I am just a few chapter in and so far I've enjoyed all the books.
I also started to read the new Rivers of London book, but honestly, compared to a lot of the other books I read, it is kind of boring. Not bad, but I am used to a faster pace, if you know what I mean. I think, I might finish it, when I'm done with the current book.
I am grateful that my teeth are OK so far. And my hair is still full. I still sing with the choir and I can read my books. And I try to think positive.
Soon, the Christmas market will start in the city and I plan to go. I like the food and the atmosphere. Maybe I'll go with a friend, a colleague or the kids. Looking forward to it.
