Have no fear,
To my Ear
your rhyme
is fine.

Do not stop
let them drop
there is no plop.
Chi pò, non vò; chi vò, non pò; chi sà, non fà; chi fà, non sà; e così, male il mondo va.

have no fear, do not gripe
Elise m'dear fire when ripe
if the rhyme plop
like my sody pop
your tight rear we shall wipe

I sit here completely unamused
beside my heaping pile of tissues
Invisible demons of corruption
cause involuntary nasal eruptions
and while my body temp is now growing hot
My mind snickers "Thinks it's butter - but its snot!"

Stoopid head cold - changes my speaking voice
And the sounds that I make, I have little choice!
Disgusting stuff, trying manfully to clear it out
Hacking, and snorting and honking my snout
Hopefully things will improve, not too much later
But for now I sound like Darth Fudd or Elmer Vader!

Inspiration flees.
Writing becomes a chore, so:
How can I o'ercome?

If writing seems to be a chore,
You should go and scrub a floor,
If your genius is in a quandry,
I suggest you do the laundry.
Cannot find the right bon mot?
chuck some chickens in a pot.
Is that wording still unclear?
Go and wash the Frigidaire.

If your writing you might shirk
come and do some nice housework.

If that doesn't prick your muse
get another, she's too obtuse.

A muse can be a fickle sprite,
the hint of genius but no full light,
which leaves one in the quandry of filling in the gaps.

A labour of love and of desire,
to write is like a burning fire,
but flame can't fully stem the darkness, chaps.

And so one labors in repetition,
Insanity of one's own volition,
for ideas bright can't fight the night without the artist's labour.

Like any deed of any size,
a point reached is tiring and truly tries
even the dedicated and lover through the trials of love's favor.

So like tasks necessary but menial,
One forces oneself to work and label
such deeds as salaried time in the business of the writing.

But lo! It needs to be chosen,
Lest in one mind it is frozen,
and denied the further readership and thereby lack in citing.

That's also the kind of response I'd get if I ever complained to my Mom, "I'm bored, there's nothing to do."  ;)

fight your evil twin brother
but let duck be clear
