My Campaign startet in modern day Berlin, where the heros suddenly had to deal with WWII Soldiers, both german and soviet, fighting the Battle for Berlin again...

I can get behind the idea of merging social skills, but I don't think Deceit and Intimidation go well together. Con men aren't that scary, and thugs aren't that tricky.

The good ones are. James Bond for example. And he also has a high rapport.

If you are unsure, give your players some more fate-points (for example for bringing snacks or being host or something) - that makes them a lot stronger. If you feel that this makes your opponents to weak, spend some fatepoints yourself. There is no limit for the fatepoints your NSC have, and you're not required to tell your players in advance. This way you can balance both ways till you developed a feel for the game.

Also, look at the rules for conceding a fight. It's another way of ending inbalanced or boring fights.

Great stuff! Keep on posting.

Pond of the Pixie Princess
Theme: Rest & Respite
Aspect: Cool Waters; Tranquility
A tranquil pond surrounded by tall willow like trees that are always in flower and bear a succulent red fruit from their long dangling branches. Pixies dance in and out of the branches of the trees. The Pond is the throne of the Pixie Princess Navi.

That's the perfect format, but I also love the one sentence ideas!

A group of ninjas (how else would ninjas be able to travel so silent and unseen?)

I plan to. I love the idea behind those rules, but never employed them in a game.

I would love to create something close to a Nevernever Encounter Table here. So please help and drop all the cool places and and encounters you created or can think of in this thread!

Some examples:

A shack where a young practicioner keeps his arcane writings and his playboy collection
A bridge with a troll
a troop of drunk ogres

What are the themes & threats of your campaign setting?
There are no defined ones. The group started as a Convention-oneshot and kept together. I tried "corruption by power", but my players don't react to temptaion.

I have
a cop who wants to become a warden like her mother.
a focused pactioner (conjurer) who used to be a mercinary and now wants to join the White Council
a plain mortal sniper who has no agenda
a focused practioner (fire) who learned of dragon blood in her veins, gained Ferrovax as a sponsor and developed inhuman toughness and wings. She wants a treasure for her lair.

Hi,

one of my players uses sponsored magic. Her sponsor is Ferrovax, her character is said to have dragon-blood.. she can cast firemagic and developed wings. Also of note: She woke a dragon - so there are two dragons now. I have not yet told them how Ferrovax reacts - if you likes the idea of another dragon on this world or if he feels challenged.

She is in debt with her sponsor. Do you guys have ideas what Ferrovax could want from her?

I like this a lot.  I can see some home brew random charts filtering through my mind as I type.
Don't forget to share.

Basically, this guy was part of a group of witch hunters from a small racist town in Louisiana. He and his friends lynched a a young warden, who threw her Death Curse at him. The curse killed him and then enslaved his spirit to the ghost of the warden. Her ghost is stuck at the moment of her death and is full of rage and vengeance and it's forcing the spirit of this guy to hunt down other members of his group and also terrorize this little racist town.

That is a wonderful idea. I'm going to steal it for my game!

I'm just looking for cool ways to play the joining the White Council. Much like Richard_Chilton described his session. I like his ideas very much, but I kind of hoped that crowdsourcing for ideas could improve even his formidable ideas!

Have you discussed the White Council with your GM?  What is it in your group's world?  An elite social club?  A political entity to further a small group's power?  Altruists working to defend humanity as best as they can?  A corrupted group whose original purpose has been subsumed?  Some mix?  Or something else entirely?
I'm the GM. I want to introduce one of my players into the Council (WC) and looking for ideas.

The WC is not yet clearly defined. I have problems with PCs that always try to ask the WC for permission and help, so the WC at this moment seems to be rather occupied with the Vampire wars and slow to respond.

Thank you all for your imput!

That's because it isn't there.
That was probably not the most helpful post there, but the others made posting here well worth the time.

I play during the beginnings of the Vampire Wars. The char never had a mentor or was an apprentice to a member of the white council.
