DF Spoilers / Re: Updated Road Map (BG spoilers and 12M speculation)

I remember this, but now I am confused. What mantle did Dresden take in FM?
The Hexenwolf belt. Not exactly a mantle, but in a smaller scale one could see it as some kind of mantle to grant him more power. And it influenced it's wearer's personality.

@Dina.
Wow. So you can be proud to work there.

I'll go to work next on Monday. The winter holidays last until the end of the week, so I'm at home now.

There is some snow, but mostly it is cold dirty mud.  ;)
The family was comparing snow fotos today. My cousin's kids actually could build big snowmen and ride their sleighs down the hills. Technically we could have done that, too, but we would have been stuck somewhere halfway and after that would look kind of crusty brown with bits of grass, not crystal white, LOL.

I have counted the ducks. Found 5 of 6. But maybe I just couldn't see the last one.

My mother is in preventive quarantine, because she had contact to an infected person. The old neighbour she is taking care of.  :-\ Don't know how the woman caught the virus, probably from one of the other neighbours helping her, but she is in a coma now. I have the feeling that I won't see her again. She wasn't healthy in the first place. She has been found because she left her door open in the cold. She was found sitting asleep in her armchair with high fever.
My mother has been tested negative but has to stay inside until the end of next week.

DF Spoilers / Re: Dark Hallow Idea...
« on: January 06, 2021, 03:14:37 PM »
Facts
1) Harry Dresden knows how to preform a Dark Hallow
2) To summon up the spirits needed, there has to be a connection.
(The necromancers used a bunch of old relics)
3) People theories Harry will preform a Dark Hallow at some point.
4) There are a bunch of pictures of people who defended Chicago now hurried in a grave.

Thought: What if Harry uses those pictures, and the spirits they might summon up, to preform the Dark Hallow.

Just an idea...

Not sure Harry is quite pragmatic enough to do it yet, though.

More like MirrorHarry not our Harry. If there is that grave with pictures in the mirrorverse, too.

I always thought of Chandler as Peabody's partner from Turn Coat.

@Foxed:
Very interesting. The split of PT/BG was not planned and I think he didn't plan for 12 Months, too. It didn't sound like that.
I was thinking that maybe Mr. Butcher is just playing with us and there will be no 12 Months. Instead there will be a new collection of short stories, all situated in the mentioned 12 months.

So by your theory, the next book (whatever one it will be) could have something to do with rituals, entropy curses and / or White Court Vampires (I have the feeling, there will always be Whamps from now on ;) ). Or with problems within families (Harry's fallout with Ebenezar, Thomas still on the island, the wedding, Lara as new stepmother, maybe Harry having to deal with Murphy's family). Or with true love (Harry's protection) or everything at once.

And probably dealing with Papa Raith one way or another. Maybe Lara finally killing him, because she now has a strong ally with the Winter Court and can openly act as Whampire Queen.

@Fcrate:
LOL your brother!
I think men with a lot of beard look funny with masks on. Mostly it looks as if the mask is growing hair all around. ;)
My husband has a beard, too. Usually it is rather short, but recently he let it grow. He says he wants to try something new,  but in reality I think he is just too lazy to trim it properly. When we sent Christmas pictures to the family they said it's the wrong colour. White would be better to go as Santa.  ;D

DF Books / Re: New reader here

Have fun. I'm currently rereading random bits. Sometimes it is good to go back to previous books with the knowledge and background of the "future". At the moment I'm back in Small Favor for several reasons ;)

LOL

Midnight was weird, but still we had fun.
You couldn't buy fireworks, and all the sparklers were sold out. So we went out with pot covers to make noise and glow lights and met with the neighbours at the fence. They had a fire going.
Some people still had last year's fireworks, but not many.
So we sang a few songs, drank some punch and after that we put out the little telescope the kids got from the grandparents for Christmas to look at the moon.
It was half past one when the kids finally went to bed and I followed at 2, while my husband fell asleep on the sofa watching
an Alice Cooper concert.

I am catholic, too.
LOL. There is a little TARDIS on the right directly beside the barn, but the picture is not very clear. I have to shoot the fotos with my cell phone. My camera doesn't work anymore. Only the not digital one.

The tree.

The wand.

There should be images. I can't see them in the preview. If they are not there, I'll try again. I'm not so good with this. LOL

We did the sock show today. ;D It was fun and it was filmed. The old neighbor came by so she had to watch and laugh, too. My dad was very moved. It was a good birthday.

We had precaution measures, too. I had myself tested covid negative. And before the test result, I used a mask and gloves to prepare the sauces.
The neighbour wore a mask, when she came and she sat a bit apart from everyone else. Everyone else was only my little family and my parents.

The kids created some landscape from paper and we put a playmobil archer in it. So we will do this for real in spring or summer. Also we had him a T-shirt with his birth year and some fun stuff on it and a coffee mug that says: it took 70 years to look this good.  8)

After the fondue lunch today we had some apple cake and coffee.

Would be weird, if the meat was alive on the plate. Probably trying to escape or to argue with you about not eating it. LOL

We always call the meat for fun by the sound the animal makes. What is this? It's moo, for example.

As there is a lot of moo, meh, quak, oink, baa, Wiener sausages and sprouts and mushrooms left, we decided to eat the leftovers tomorrow at noon as birthday food. No need to order Vietnamese. We will do that another time.

For tomorrow we have prepared a little show for my dad. We will use single socks as hand puppets, complete with wool hair and button eyes. The sock puppets will sing Ramalama Ding Dong. I hope, it will be funny. We want to make him laugh.

Now I am so full of food. At first I could barely move. The little one fell asleep on the way home (it's less than 5 minutes).

I won't be up long either. The day started early. The cat woke me up.

Edit: the little one was very happy about the little wand I made for her. :)

But it is winter here and we need comfort food. Stew with potato mash and Brussels sprouts. We probably make too much but stew freezes well.
Us, too. So you have food for the next days without having to cook anything new. We'll probably eat meat, sprouts and bread with sauce for two days. Mushrooms usually are eaten up on the first day.
Sauces last for 3-4 days. My mother remembered the garlic butter.
So we just need bread afterwards. That's OK. I have everything at home to bake some. Also the bakeries are open. So all kinds of delicious bread and other things are available. For the holidays you just have to reserve some at the bakery.
