Hi Fred,

Will the new book include the bad guys from the short stories after Small Favor? I'm most interested in those that were in "Last Call", "Even Hand", and "Aftermath."

Sam
To the best of our ability, yes.

OMG Thank You!

It does bring up a question I recently asked myself; somewhere in the DFRPG YS it talks about Teleportation being possible but I can't recall anyone actually using it. I would assume that if any White Council Wizard could do it it would be Rashid...but is there an actual mechanic for how much power that would take? I guess it's really up to the GM but I can only assume it'd be based on the distance traveled, but how does it actually work? Is it a wormhole? Or a cut-through the Never-never that doesn't actually enter into the Never-Never? Something to ponder.

Spoiler alert

DFRPG / Re: White Court Virgin Question

Then again, Jim Butcher has said that it would be possible (very unlikely, but possible) for a White Court Vampire to eat Mab (and thus gain Mab's powers).

Richard

Thank you, I think that may answer my question quite well.  (Insert Evil GM Laugh)  Where can I find the interview where he said that?

Found it! Re: DF: Harry and Lea « Reply #22 on: March 04, 2009, 03:43:14 PM »

I may be splitting hairs here but I think that eating Mab would result in her title and power transferring to the nearest available fey, if not unseelie fey, which would mean that the severely weekend White Court would have to start all over again.  Having to attack a fresh, if inexperienced, Winter Queen.  The good news for my group is, that wouldn't happen with a goblin because the lesser fey's powers don't jump to the nearest fey at the moment of death.  That being said, I think their more desired result of an attack on the Winter Queen would be a Mab who could be controlled with the statement, "Do 'x' and I will give you a temporary release from the fear/lust/misery that you're feeling right now."

But to bring that back to the original topic, according to Mr Butcher it sounds like white court vampires can eat fey.  Now, if I apply the principle of "You are what you eat" to the situation which originally brought up the question, I believe the answer for my group is that the White Court Virgin would become a White Court Vampire with some of the temporary aspects of a goblin (both good and bad).  The more goblins she ate, the more goblin like she would become.

Thank you very much.  This discussion has been very helpful.

I'd think that since the Laws of Magic specifically apply to the White Council, the advantages and disadvantage would only apply to those they claim jurisdiction over so would not apply seelie and unseelie magic or addictive saliva.  However, from a role playing standpoint, I'm pretty sure the Wardens would react to them in a similar way.

The PCs are sitting in the office of someone who they're pretty sure is not human (Bald, 6'8" and 500lbs of muscle) and clearly a major power in the area discussing stategy after the bad guys just tried to re-kidnap someone they just rescued.

PC: "Hey, I remember hearing about some guy advertising as a wizard in Chicago.  Maybe he can help us?" :)

Big Scary Guy: "That man is not coming to my town!" >:(

DFRPG / White Court Virgin Question
« on: January 27, 2011, 11:08:20 AM »
We ran into a situation where the White Court Virgin had the opportunity to kill a goblin using her emotional vampire power.  I would like to hear everyone's opinions.  Would she have become a full vampire if she had done that or does it only happen if she kills a human?

DFRPG / NPC Character Portraits

I've made a bunch of character portraits of the NPCs for my game (Dresden Files Columbus: Athena's Angels) and feel like showing them off.  Is it appropriate to post them here?

I'm running a game where the players are taking on a human trafficking ring run by House Skavis.  We've had some really intense sequences though not a whole session.  I wouldn't try anything heavy if I thought any members of my gaming group weren't mature enough to handle it.

Hi Yakoaohw,

I discovered something interesting this morning when I installed the new version.  I can view the character sheet before I save a character but not after.
