Site Suggestions & Support / Re: Trying out CloudFlare
« on: August 25, 2012, 03:30:15 AM »
wait, so is cloudflare the new server host or something?

No, it's a sort of reverse proxy service that makes sure that various parts of the site are cached more effectively and that traffic takes the most efficient route possible to reach its destination.

Not that the forums have been particularly slow since the move, but I've decided to try out cloudflare.com for this site. Let me know if you see wonkiness, though the change should largely be transparent (and should reduce the amount of slowness encountered overall).

Evil Hat has launched its Race to Adventure kickstarter campaign today, set in the Spirit of the Century universe:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/evilhat/race-to-adventure-a-spirit-of-the-centurytm-board

This is Evil Hat's first board game, but if it turns out to be seriously successful, it likely won't be its last... :)

And there goes the goal. That was quick.

The first goal! We need to hit $10k for the full trilogy to proceed at maximum speed. :)

The Spirit of the Century DINOCALYPSE TRILOGY kickstarter is live! You can check it out -- and hopefully contribute! -- at:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/evilhat/spirit-of-the-century-presents-the-dinocalypse-tri

Make sure to check out the video. Long time fans of Spirit of the Century should find plenty of "squee" in it. :)

Also, the second sample chapter just went up:

You can find others at the same blog, and more info at:

Bah, Facebook.

Any other way to express support? I'd really like some ParaNet spoilers.

We'll have other ways soon, I'm sure. :)

If Evil Hat had the same stuff in G+, I'd be able to +1 it there - in FB, not so much...

There is an Evil Hat G+ profile, but no activity there (at all?) - why? Less fans on that platform?

One community at a time! All my G+ activity is on my personal account, presently.

This seems shameless, using one forum to promote another.

I'm also shameless, and I love both products, so you've earned my vote :-D

I'm a dad to small children! I am no longer genetically predisposed towards this "shame" you speak of!

Hey folks,

We're releasing a series of sneak peeks for our upcoming board game, Race to Adventure!, over on our facebook page, as we hit successive 100-like milestones (next up: 900) -- https://www.facebook.com/EvilHatProductions

If we smash through the 1000 mark, and reach 1100 and beyond, we'll start posting some sneak peeks of the Paranet Papers supplement for the Dresden Files RPG.  Thought you might like to know. Come on over and click that "like" box, wouldja?

Also -- today we released the first chapter of DINOCALYPSE NOW, Evil Hat's first foray into fiction. We'll be launching a kickstarter campaign on March 20th to turn this one novel into a trilogy, and maybe more, and would sure appreciate your support when the time comes. You can read the sample chapter here - http://www.deadlyfredly.com/tag/dinocalypse/ - and learn more about the trilogy here - http://www.dinocalypse.com/

DFRPG / Re: Will there be an updated version of Our World?
« on: March 08, 2012, 05:50:10 PM »
Yes, there will be an update to the character and creature guides of Our World!  It's one of the many awesome features of The Paranet Papers.  You can read more about it and Evil Hat's other upcoming projects here.

What she said. :)

I can't see the results, perhaps because I didn't vote?
Correct.

Yeah, may be your browser. Certainly looks fine to me on Chrome.

The 2 column thing happens for anything over 1 option for a resolution wide enough for 2 columns, and for a lower resolution, an option with a description that takes up 2 lines causes the votes not to line up either.

This puter requires that I use an old verison of IE, so that could be the source of the problem... unless you have it too.

I didn't see a link to the results, just to the poll options. Will look again.

I'm considering doing a redux of this poll, but on my browser the votes do not line up with the options.  In fact, in wide screen, the votes form 2 columns independent of the categories

I believe this is the first time I have looked at it since we changed to the new BB code.

Don't quite know what to tell you. I wouldn't be shocked if the makers of the code had no expectation of a forum poll that had THAT many options on it... :)

P.S.  Does EVERYBODY need approval before starting a topic that has links in it?

I think it's more of a, "more than one link in it," thing. But, yeah, the spam controls are necessarily strict, there.
