Also, what about the Fay? The Summer and Winter Courts are currently intimately tied to the climate of planet Earth. If humans have become spaceborne and inhabit another planet (or planets), than how will the Faeries adapt?

Badly.  You're right that the Winter and Summer Courts are tied to the natural cycles of the world, but you make a mistake if you think they are totally dependent on the world and not the other way around.  The Queens do not only reflect the seasonal cycle, they drive it.  In many ways, they provide the impetus for the natural cycles of birth and death, growth and decay.  If they world were somehow destroyed, whatever did it would have to go through the Courts first.

The way I see it, you'd have the raggedy remains of both Courts tagging along with humans, almost entirely dependent on them.  The domovoi and other house spirits might be able to survive symbiotically with humans.  Perhaps the youngest Queens and the Knights might make it, being the most human.  The Wyldfae might also be flexible enough to adapt and survive, but from how the fae are described, I think their natures are mostly too stagnant and dependent on nature to adapt to spacefaring.

Mild says "Walk it off", Moderate says "get some rest" and Severe says "Go to an ER". So does that mean that the PC is going to keep bleeding?

Yes, if it makes sense.  If it doesn't make sense, but not enough time has passed for the Consequence to go away you can also modify the Aspect to make sense.  For example if a character has Broken Leg, but has visited a hospital and been treated you can change the Aspect to Crutches.

Hmm ... I think your best bet is to call in a favor from your boss, see if he can lend a divine hand.

Oh and I forgot first person + past tense = flashback or voiceover.

Actually I like using camera analogies a lot because we're mostly all used to how movies use cinematic tricks.

For example I think first person + present tense = character's eye view camera that shakes when they run.

Third person + present tense, on the other hand, would be those action shots that dynamically zoom in for a close-up on the character's face.

Third person + past tense = a more pulled back shot, usually showing multiple characters and background as well.

Do those seem about right?

I think using past tense pulls the camera back a little, while using present tense is like a close-up shot.  I, too, think past tense lends itself more to epic or big scenes.

I tend to write in third person, past tense, because it seems more professional to me, though I may throw in present tense every once in awhile for certain scenes.

I like using third person because I strive to show things like emotions through inferential cues like body language and facial expression, I somehow think it a bit more .. challenging than simply telling the audience what the character is feeling.  It also more easily allows for scenes with no characters in them, like interludes, than first person.

So I was noticing the different styles of writing in the PBP's and it made me wonder what everyone likes to use and why.

When you write in general, do you like to write in first person?  Third person?  Something odd, like second person?  Do you use past or present tense?  Future tense maybe?

How does this change, if at all, when you write for a play-by-post?  Why?

I like the idea of Earth Evocations manifesting visually as feats of strength and stability.  The Terramancer makes a small stomping motion that reverberates through the area and channels the strength of the earth through a mean left hook.  Bam, simple kinetic attack released through the fist, or a ring, or a gauntlet, but it looks like you have a punch worthy of an ogre.

It kinda depends.  If I can incorporate the new information into my storyline without making huge changes, I will.

Backed and am working my way through the core.  I'm really happy we unlocked the hardcover version and am looking forward to the magic toolkit.

Alas, that doesn't work for the Fae, at least not if they ask three times:
Q) Did you kill Tom Goodfellow?
A) I'm not going to answer that question
Q) Did you kill Tom Goodfellow?
A) I'm not going to answer that question
Q) Did you kill Tom Goodfellow?
A) Yes dammit I did.

Much better to go:
Q) Did you kill Tom Goodfellow?
A) Tom's dead? What? But I was just talking to him the other day.  How did he die?
Q) Did you kill Tom Goodfellow?
A) You moron! Tom was... We were close dammit! I need time to deal with this.  To process!
(leaves)

Richard

So they have to answer the question if asked three times?  And yeah the second option is definitely tricksier, but I think there are all flavors of Fae.  The one I was trying for was the honorable Seelie Knight, kinda lawful neutral-ish, who knows the game but doesn't like trickery.

Is it possible for this kind of Fae to answer "I'm not going to answer that question and now I never will" because of saying it thrice?

Not being able to lie doesn't imply that you have to answer.  "I'm not going to answer that question" is perfectly truthful, after all.  Also, I've found that answering every question with another question drives players NUTS!

You don't normally see the phrase "mudra" used in Tai Chi.  Mudra is a Sanskrit word used in Hinduism and Buddhism to denote a hand gesture with particular meanings that are intended to help bring about certain states of mind.  So you'll definitely see them in yoga, which has roots in Hinduism.  Tai Chi, on the other hand, has roots in Chinese Martial Arts and Taoism.  The forms that I've learned in Tai Chi are not just hand gestures, but dynamic movements, instead of just static postures like in Yoga, that involve the whole body.  So to use Yoga terminology they'd be mudras and asanas at the same time ... kinda.

Chinese medicine also doesn't really use the chakras.  Instead it talks about the meridians, or channels of chi that run through the body.

As for the elements, I know medical chi gong talks about the wu hsing and the five elements, but the style of Tai Chi I take doesn't really delve into those very much.

Are you perhaps interested in the names of the different forms?  They're very poetic, like "Parting the Wild Horse's Mane", "Grasping the Swallow's Tail", "Needle at the Bottom of the Ocean" etc.

Huh, cool idea. Never thought of unlocking magical power with mystical poses before. Pretty good way to get physical skills involved in the Declaration process for a ritual.

I posited something like it awhile ago in THIS thread.
