Ken Hite Helping Out!
« on: May 28, 2008, 10:25:28 PM »
Just read that Ken Hite is writing the Occult Chicago chapter the RPG.  Sweet deal.  That's great news. I've been excited about the DFRPG and it keeps getting better and better.
Just because I haven't posted recently, doesn't mean I haven't been on the forum.

Yeah, we're particularly excited to get him on board.  He's living in Chicago, too, so we'll be able to get some genuine local color there.

So it means the game is getting closer to be done, right?

Every day, man.  Every day.  There's just a freaking huge number of days.

Well the closer the better and I can't wait. And I'm guessing Ken Hite is someone that deals with the occult.

Why would I take offense?  He's on my team!

Well I found my reason why Mr. Hite is the best for this job.

Pelgrane Press, under arrangement with Chaosium Inc. presents . . .
an Alliance Both Dread and Inevitable
The cutting edge in investigative roleplaying joins forces with the game that started it all — with spine-chilling results.

Horrors Hacked From History
In what can only be described as his masterwork, acclaimed expert on the eldritch, Kenneth Hite, weds his encyclopedic command of vivid historical detail to his piercing mastery of H.P. Lovecraft's classic horror tales. Trail of Cthulhu brings the cosmic malignity forward into the 1930s, a time when the creeping madness of the Great Old Ones intermingles with the sweeping cruelty of global totalitarianism.

Hurtled Toward Cosmic Madness

The revolutionary GUMSHOE rules system, by award-winning designer Robin D. Laws, will change the way you play investigative games. It speeds and streamlines play, ensuring that, as your characters plunge into rotting farmhouses, forbidden libraries, and frigid Antarctic labyrinths, they'll always get the clues they need to move ever-onward—towards their fated confrontation with ancient truths too appaling for the mind to assimilate.

Choose your mode of play: a Purist spiral into mind-blasting horror, or lurid two-gun Pulp. The game includes a new take on the creatures, cults and gods of the Lovecraft's literature, and addresses their use in gaming. It adds new player backgrounds, and bulk out the GUMSHOE system to give intensive support for sanity, incorporating into the rule set the PCs desire to explore at the risk of going mad.

TRAIL OF CTHULHU is a 248 page hardcover book written by Kenneth Hite, and illustrated by Jérome Huguenin..
