Necro'ing this (sorry... notsorry) with another thought.
1st Corinthians 13:13 says:

--- Quote ---And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
--- End quote ---

Per the WoJ quoted previously, we have a definitive answer.

But I wonder if that was one of those occasional lies he uses.  Like, sure... "True Hope" addresses despair, and the Hopeful will burn a Skavis-whamp; but perhaps (I suggest) so will Love.

I'm not at all convinced of this, but Jim has given us plenty of signals that he's drawing heavily on the Bible for large swaths of his world-building, and "love" in particular looms large in the Dresdenverse...

Dina:
I wish we could see a moment of bravery or hope protecting against vampires. Michael, we know, easily rejects vampires. But I wonder if we could see Harry or Marcone or Butters protected from fear vampires. I mean, only for their bravery, not for carrying a sacred sword or something.

Mira:

--- Quote ---That's a thing right there, though.  We don't know the 'mechanism' by which courage would mess with Malvora or hope with Skavis.  We've seen the protective mechanism at work with love and Raith, but how would it work with the others?  We just don't know.

--- End quote ---

Maybe a medal?  Medals are given out for valor, every country has them, and not just for bravery on the battlefield.. I can see Butters really kicking ass, not just because he is a Holy Knight now, but because when we first meet him we find out that he stood up for truth and it cost him dearly, yet he stood up.

Dina:
Butters is very brave. He even stand to the Titan to protect Harry.

And yes, a medal is a good idea.
