Rereading Zoo Day
« on: July 13, 2020, 09:43:08 PM »
I'm rereading Zoo day and I just caught something i didn't notice on the first reading.  Mouse and his siblings were stolen from Brother Wang by 2 black robed figures a man and a woman.  Do you think it was Cowl and Kumori?

That a reasonable guess.  With nothing more to go on I would say probably.

yes, me too.
Missing you, Md

There are many horrible sights in the multiverse. Somehow, though, to a soul attuned to the subtle rhythms of a library, there are few worse sights than a hole where a book ought to be. Someone has stolen a book (Terry Pratchett)

It's highly likely.

If Jim does an AMA soon for the release of the new book, I really want to try getting "Would Mouse recognize either of them by scent if he encountered them out of disguise?" into the list. He didn't seem to show much hostility to Elaine, so it could bear on the strength of the case for her being Kumori.

That was always my interpretation...or at least the hint

Problem with that though, Harry battles monkey demons to save the puppies.  When Harry meets Cowl in Dead Beat, he knows Harry only by reputation.   Now Cowl and company might be behind it, but I don't think they did the actual kidnapping.  Having said that, I don't doubt for a second that Mouse would recognize who pupnapped him and his brothers and sisters.  Nor do I doubt he will try to bite off their vital parts.. ::)

Cowl implies he only knows Harry by reputation. That doesn't make it true or even likely.
