Gamal means Camel in Arabic, but "Ebil" is the whole species. Camels, big and small, male and female, all different kinds. Kinda like the word "Bovines" to describe all things beef.

In Spanish we have the word "Camello", meaning the species Camelus bactrianus (two gibes). Then all the others in the family have different names: Dromedario, Alpaca, Vicuña, Guanaco, Llama...

Funny fact; The word "Camello" is pronounced "Camelio" (with an i) for most Spanish speakers but we from the area of the Río de la Plata (the wide river in the Buenos Aires coast), both Argentinians and Uruguayans, pronounce it quite like Camesho (please, not Cameshow, or Cameshou, or Cameshoo).

Exactly! Caraballo, Casillas, we in Buenos Aires pronounced them like Camello. But I suck at explaining the pronounciation. No idea how Cameyyo would be probounced. So I did my best. Not Cameleeo but Camesho. More or less accurate.

And lol yes, I think that was the specific name. I may be wrong though. I remember Camelus dromedarius is the one with a gibe.
