I'd like to play someone just barely under what the White Council considers for admission, but uses what he has very, very well.

He trades work for training and some cash, and has been at it for quite some time before the war doing small work for various wardens.

When its a minor job like investigating a rumor of a haunting, an ugly death that may have supernatural overtones, or just going in to have a drink in a Red Court owned bar to see whats going on, he takes it.

When its a dirty job like eliminating a pawn of the Reds, B&E to plant a bug or picking up a dead-drop message, he does that too.

He tries to be more unobtrusive than deadly, and succeeds for the most part, but obviously, when dealing with vampires & fae, not to mention humans working for vampires & fae, you learn to pull the trigger (or hit that detonator) without hesitation.

He has previously worked with various Wardens in various minor capacities as an additional "hired gun" as well as setting up safe houses, clean cars, prepaid cell phones...things like that.

After the events in Dead Beat with the Wardens being almost decimated he has been getting more, and more important, assignments. The Wardens, after all, can hardly afford to be picky in their help no matter how much they'd like to be.

In the past few years with the war on his trade of work for training has enabled him to gather up a rather tidy bit of power. If tested again, he would probably make the Council...if anyone noticed, as he has been somewhat labeled into his current roll.

I'd be a Scion, or the Summer Knight.

In the Hack version of Dresden Files we played, Chris got to play his Scion.  I played a Blackstaff, and it was a lot of fun.  So, I gotta say a Wizard.

I have got to say a Knight of one of the Fae Courts. All the power of a Noble fae pacted into the frame of a mortal. Thats the ticket right there.

Potion Specialist.  Maybe somebody who doesn't have the raw power of a council wizard, but makes up for it with versatility and guile.  Maybe even someone who has managed to overcome the "one potion at a time limitation", or maybe has a few favorite potions that he keeps in his system all the time to the point where he get the sick feeling from not having it in him.

Harry always talks about how much it would take to keep up with the changing laws governing it and how hard it would be.  It would be fun to try.

IM thinking that I would want to play a changling.

The tenative background story would be that my mother was a Warden, who asked a knight of the Summer Court (not the Summer Knight, just a Fae warrior in the Service of the Summer Queen) for help with a problem. The favor demanded in return was that she bear the the Fae Knights child. Unfortunately I did not turn out as my father wished, I was not born with a great deal of magical strength and my mother died soon after wards. So he wasnt able to gain a contact with in the White Council. My father wasnt unkindly, he was just a non entity, visiting maybe a couple times of year, so the person left to reise me was my Aunt. She was a woman with a low amount of magical talent and ran a New Age store that sold books and items dealing with magic.

My powers that i would have if they were available would be to have an animal companion, a lot like Mouse. The ability to communicate with animals. Hightened senses. Faster then normal reflexes and I would use a magical sword. I could cast a few spells that i learned working in my Aunts store, I can make circles and light up candles pretty easily, but beyond that Im pretty useless when it comes to casting magic.

Well I'd love to play a Wyldfae Pixie - a sort of Toot Toot character, but at the same time I can imagine without some really imaginative aspects the poor GM might have trouble roping the character into stories.

So maybe I'll be a little more sane about it and go with Wizard's apprentice.

I really don't want to be a heavy hitter - I'll leave that to others.

Play a good Scion. Something like a Nephilim if I could get a GM to swing it. "Yes I'm half angel. No I won't pick up that sword."

We always need mortals, ....but how can I resist to be a wizard!  ;D

I've been kicking around a few ideas for an NPC when I get my hands on the second stage alpha test. The big one is a Noble-Sidhe changeling business exec. He'd use his Fae compulsiveness for bargaining to get some sweet deals for his company. Also, I like playing around with Aspect names. For instance, the aspect dealing with his human-fae heritage is "He-Sidhe." Ok, so maybe not side-splitting, but I have to entertain myself somehow.

The other NPC I'm tossing around in my head is a young but powerful wizard. It's the seventh-son-of-a-seventh-son kinda deal, and the council has taken a direct hand in his training. So as book smart as he is, he's an over-protected, sheltered teen.

nah, just a guy who uses lots of potions and other "recipes".  none of the permanent mutation or large-scale physiology changes like witchers get.
