Next to your hero's you put your most effort into the villains of your story.  Especially a main or important bad guy.  Sometimes it seems a real shame to end something you've put so much work into.  Agonizing at times, either knowing they have to die, there's no choice, or wondering if there's some way you can save them for later.  And then realizing that while you could save them, the story will be better off if you go through as originally planned.

We put a lot of work into our writing.  If we didn't then it wouldn't be as enjoyable.

Yeah. I love endings. Many series' have actually left me really disappointed by how they end, so I'm determined to make the end of this trilogy the best book in the series.

Its not gloating to put up an accurate word count (wink) I can't help it if you're jealous of my prodigous writing experience today.  And to think I jerked around until about 3 pm with less than a thousand written and now that its 9:30 pm here I'm already up to 9k.

Oh!  Feel the sting spything!

Is it the end for all your characters, the world, or just for this trilogy arc?

Well there is scope for more stories in this setting, maybe even some of the characters, but realistically, this is the end of Nathan Shepherd's story, and afterwards I'll be saying goodbye to him, his city, and his friends. I'm going to miss them, but I'd rather let the story end on a high than drag things out.

I don't know if I could fit any of my story arcs into something as small as a Trilogy.  Not the ones I really get excited about anyway.

But hey good for you.  You've got a story to tell and you're doing it.  Next to entertaining your audience, tell the story you have and love in your head is the best thing you can do.

Funny you should say that. Originally Nathan's story was 6 books long.

But my publisher wanted a re-write on Silent Oath when I first submitted it, to combine books 2 and 3. It was after that I decided that I had to cut things down to just the 3 books.
