A mass human die-off, while appealing from an ecological and personal stand point, comes with a very large problem...

Who shall maintain the infrastructure of society? Electrical plants, dams, internet service providers...

Africa and Australia are right out. Eurasia may be viable, given the large area, but we would have to be sure to avoid Mother Russia at winter time  ;D
