after a really stressy weekend, for various reasons, and not being able to write Fri or Sat, I got 5,000 words done yesterday. Not on what I really should be working on, but still.

Rewrote the first things I wrote from my first novel today.  Dear gods did I suck back then.  Turned out to be about 1500 words long when done.  Feels much better.

Another thousand words last night.  Not a huge amount, but they where words happening between the scenes that really interest me, and those are always the sections that are Work rather than Play.  Hard to get started on, hard to not find an excuse to indulge in some distraction (I need to know more about VEI 8 eruptions, the Siberian Traps, or cometary impacts!  I'm going to watch a documentary!  But it's research!)

When I'm on a scene that I'm excited about, I'll hammer through two or three thousand at a sitting while giggling and rolling my eyes like a mad prophet.

I'm reaching the end of my tale, but I fear it will turn into a novella rather than a full length novel. I know how the story ends and I don't see it going far past 40k. Sadly though now that I'm finally almost finished the world seems to be against me. I've only gotten maybe 2k words this week.

Seriously though... it's a good thing my apartment has a huge living room and a ginourmous sitting room connected because sometimes I'll hop up from my laptop and pace while juggling words, then scamper back and hammer some more.  Then hop up and pace again while talking to myself.

What can I say, some parts of writing are pretty damn fun.

lucky
i have been away from my lap top for two weeks
and only been back for less then 24 hours
so i have not done any writing in a wile
