Character Request Game
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:18:12 AM »
I kinda feel like making some characters, but I don't have very many good ideas for them. So I'm asking for your help, people of the DFRPG forum.

Give me at least three of the following:

Templates
Stunts
Powers
Aspects
Primary Skills

And I'll make a character with those three (or more) things. Feel free to pick more than one thing from a category for a single request.

If you need ideas, the Resources Board is your friend.

Here is an idea.

An Ectomancer who lost control and now has multiple spirits, some benevolent, some sadistic possessing him. While he has come to a sort of an arrangement to retain primary control of his body, these spirits do occasionally act out and do there own thing.

Put that into the format I set out, please.

A concept like that requires more work than I'm looking for right now. I might even need to make custom powers.

That what you're looking for?

Template: Were-Form
Aspects: Have to solve the puzzle, I know this town, I've got friends in low places
Important Skills: Investigation, Contacts, Rapport, Deceit
Stunts: Good cop: In good-cop-bad-cop, I'm the good cop. Roll Rapport for Interrogation
Powers: In addition to required: Inhuman Strength and Toughness, Claws

Figured his human form would be the information gatherer while his wereform would be for self-defense, in case the person he's investigating is a supernatural baddie.

Template: Were-Form
Aspects:
Skills: Resources, Deceit
Stunts:
Powers: In addition to required: Diminutive Size, Addictive Saliva

I beleive there was a thread about odd character ideas or Op chracter ideas or something.  I mentioned a "good guy" denarian, a were coyote mechanic etc.

You (Sanctaphrax) asked permisson to make them.  I'm not having any luck with the search function or I'd supply a link.

Long story short if you can find hte thread, feel free to write up any character idea I listed.

Thanks, everyone. This should keep me busy for a while.

I admit that I had expected less complete sketches, but I'm not complaining.

I had totally forgotten about that old thread, but a bit of searching got me Silverblaze's post. I'll be getting to those once I've finished the requests on this thread.

Paul Kowalski (Up To Your Waist)

High Concept: Changeling "Freedom Fighter"
Trouble Aspect: Slipping Into Darkness
Other Aspects: Iron, My Boon And Bane; Winter Must Be Destroyed; Conviction Is A Virtue, Demolitions Expert
Skills:
Great: Craftsmanship
Good: Stealth, Athletics
Fair: Guns, Burglary, Discipline, Deceit
Average: Alertness, Contacts, Endurance, Conviction, Survival, Lore, Scholarship
Stunts:
Demolitions Training (Craftsmanship): Set explosives with Craftsmanship.
Demolitions Expert (Craftsmanship): +2 to set explosives.
Hidden Explosives (Deceit): +2 to hide explosives.
Powers:
Cloak Of Shadows [-1]
Inhuman Speed [-2]
Total Refresh Cost:
-6
Refresh Total:
1

Paul Kowalski is one of Winter's most dedicated foes, although many naive people would assume that he was a part of that court.

He is a changeling, with a dead mortal mother and a Winter-aligned faerie father of uncertain identity. As a child, he was part of a group of changelings that was tormented and abused by Maeve.

He was never able to retaliate directly, but he nonetheless nursed a deep grudge against the entire Winter Court. When he grew up, he encountered a demon who offered to help him. He accepted, and was hidden in Hell far away from Winter's reach. In exchange, he gave the demon his Name, and accepted training in warfare from demonic teachers.

Once more or less safe, he began a guerrilla campaign against Winter. He built bombs covered with iron nails and slipped them into faerie territory. He's been doing that for years now, and he's amassed an impressive body count.

He's happy about that, but he's getting the distinct impression that his demonic "benefactor" is corrupting him somehow. Of course, his cold-blooded slaughter of Winter fey couldn't possibly be a part of that...

Theodore is the nicer half of St. Mark's Investigations, the only supernatural private investigator's firm in New York. He's an incredibly sweet, nice, harmless guy. Everyone knows him, and nobody minds when he comes around to ask a few questions.

He's also a werebear. When in his beast form, he looks a bit like a giant teddy bear, no more frightening than a stuffed animal. But that's just his appearance. In truth, his bear form is strong enough and lethal enough to tear people apart with ease.

Theodore doesn't like to fight, though, so he leaves that stuff to his partner John London. London's a lot less nice than Theodore.

Richard was once an ordinary, rather boring rich kid. He did not know that his grandmother was a wizard of the White Council, and his modest magical talent never blossomed. Then he went on vacation to Mexico, got turned by the Red Court noble Lady Sarah, and was forced to provide the Red Court with as much information and money as possible from his family.

This had the odd effect of awakening his magical talents in a rather vampiric way: Richard learned how to become a bat. By using this along with some inner strength that he never knew he had, Richard was able to become more than just a piece in Lady Sarah's game.

Now, he's a player.

But not the most skilled one. He's still struggling desperately to maintain his survival, his secrecy and his free will. If grandma finds out what he is, he's in serious trouble. If Sarah ever gets a further hold on him, he's in worse trouble. So he's in danger from all sides, and very scared.

I like the werebat.

Wonder how his shapechanging would be affected by being turned into a full RCV. Could maybe score some refresh with a catch.  Only one point would matter in this case, but the catch could be sound (high frequency, sonic, very loud, etc.) or sunlight.  The catch; in hte case of sunlight; simply nullifying the recovery, not causing damage.

No idea how full transformation would affect his shapeshifting.

I think I might give the cult leader guy there a 2 refresh discount on his second sponsored magic. It seems only fair.

On the other hand, he's going to be negative refresh anyway. So I suppose I might as well play it by the RAW.
