It's my finger.

He's biting it because I'm holding his feet so I could get a picture of him.  Prior to that he was biting it because I was holding on to him to take measurements.  Prior to that he was biting it because I was trying to untangle him from a net.  I can't really blame them.  :D

Heh. Not at all.

Jane &/or John Q. Boring  with their "must live in this limited social box" are far more... alien  to me than someone who obviously thinks that "the box" is a good place to keep the gloves and nets when they're not out catching bats and other fun stuff... :)

Chiana, may I point out bat is biting finger and bat dog is a Golden Retriever...may want to reverse those characterizations. Fierce Golden. ROTFL  Hee hee hee.  :) ;D

As for a representation of his shadow, the best I'd be able to come up with for a costume is some version of a Mistborn cloak.

If your not familiar with Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, here's a pretty good drawing of his main character wearing a Mistborn cloak.

It might be better to forgoe the shadow all together though, but if you can get ahold of a cheap black silky (in my minds eye silky or maybe satiny is the most important detail) long flowing capelike thingy and shread it, that might work.

Make it out of a weak leather thong.  $5 at walmart for a spool.

P.S. and if you are worried about it cinching before it breaks somehow, tie a stopper knot on the line that slides through the rest of the knot.  I'll take a picture of what I have in mind when I get home.  I have the thong and everything.
