Everyone chill out. Tastes differ.
Personally, I tend to agree that Jim Butcher is pre-eminent in the field, but then I've never read Kate Griffin, and I'm perfectly willing to be surprised. Also, I know people who think other very good authors are better in the field...and because what they like in the genre is different from what I like, i can't fault them for that.
And, to be fair, I know of other authors that are at least slightly outside said genre who are, IMO, legitimately better than Jim. Both Neil Gaiman and Lois Bujold leap immediately to mind.
