I dig the turquoise idea (it comes in more colors than just the color that's named turquoise, doesn't it?) -- and I feel dumb for not thinking of it myself. Definitely reasonably common but requiring research...

... actually, after looking at Wikipedia -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turquoise -- I see the "red turquoise" that I'm used to thinking of is actually something called "argilite".  See? Research!

of the top of my head it comes in various shades of blue/green, and i vaguely recall reading something about it being called blue or green torquise based on the difference. but my research into native American spirituality was nearly a decade ago so don't quote me.

Hi I also went down the path of a native ameican shape shifting werebear, we actaully ended up agreeing that as the form came from the spirit world that natrual weapons from the earths cretures would bypass mystical toughness. We decidieed that this would be a +2 as it requires a bit of research into xescovering this weakness
