So anyone who has been paying attention knows that for the past number of years I do the February cover for Pikestaff, the Official Newsletter of the East Kingdom.  2010's cover will be in color! 

The working title is "Eastern Hospitality"  but the real subject is "how to treat your seneschal"  The guy in the tub is my hubby.  and I am the toots with the loving cup.  My oldest son is scrubbing his dad's arm, and the blonde is Aphrodite.  The part of scullery wench was played by an extra....

SO happens that I am going to be auctioning it off to benefit Toys for Tots.  I may also attempt to get some tee-shirts made and sell those to benefit toys for tots too. 

I really like how it turned out.

Plus, I just realized that this is at least my eleventh year of doing the February cover!

Glad that you like it.

Now I can go start on that nude of Thomas and Harry that Ms. Duck asked me to do.

Well, how about them?  Other people do them!  You should look up the fan art master thread.  I only do nude male characters because the rest of these fine ladies pointed out a deficit there to me. 

My first male (almost) nude was Waldo playing the accordion.  (Which is why he made me put boxers on him.)

An edible work of sculptural art, mostly made of Marzipan, although the pond is sugar (melted and retextured to be like a pondish sugar cube.)

But that is what it was made for!  To be eaten.  At least now, with digital technology, I have photos of it.  I can not tell you how many transient pieces of food art I have made of which no visual record exists.  It is that ephemeral quality which makes it art!

So since people on this board have been motivating me, I took my camera with me on my drive up through the woods, and stopped just at Sundown to snap a few pictures.
Interestingly enough my very last picture of the day was my favorite.



At a ranch just outside of town, the antique wagon and windmill looked lovely in the fading light.
