You're killing me here.. *He's staring at the phone but you can easily tell he's not seeing anything on its screen, it's just a reflection for his thoughts as he fantasizes about all sorts of cake with plums,  butter glaze,  butter crumble,  marinade and lemon filling.  A drop of saliva is slowly making its journey from his bottom lip to chin and further down till it dropped on his phone,  startling him.  He finishes the post, opens up a twinkie and fires his imagination up again*

I dreamt with a cake tonight! A cheesecake with raspberries in the top. I believe I've dreamt of it because I had not cake since a couple of weeks before my surgery (gallbladder) in August. So the talk here, and a cake that people had at my work because of a birthday, were probably the cause of my dream. Funniest thing is the dream I just buy a slice of the cake, but did not eat it.

Not even in the dream Dina?  Damn that's frustrating.

Ah, to be honest, it felt quite natural. I am not frustrated at all.
And today I had some delicious lemon sorbet. So all is good.

Really? Do you think it is weird? For me, it was quite normal. Buying a slice of cake is not out of the ordinary.

No that's not weird.  I have dreamt of cake before. We have a saying here "the hungry dreams of the bread market" so..
My top weird was a series of sequential nightmares while I was 12.

When I was a child I sometimes had recurring dreams, or even a couple of sequential ones. But it was not a frequent thing. Most of my dreams are of two kind. a) like action movies b) boring, ordinary things.

I had recurring dreams yes. And I never remember the boring dreams for long.
However,  a particular set of sequential nightmares was Action/horror combination for me like you said. These tend to stick with me the most because I keep thinking about them after I wake up. If I don't keep actively thinking about a dream in the half hour after I wake up,  I completely forget it.

Yes, the last part is true for me too.
I had more interesting dreams too but they are very, very occasional. Those about people who is dead in real life are, of course, the most emotional ones. One of them in particular felt so real and gave me so much peace that I believe they were true communication. And the other day, the dream I mentioned here about my kitty, it felt just too real.

Looks like you've been lucky in that.  I never had anything like that.  Anyway the most exceptional dreams I had were when I was a teenager.  I rarely dream anything memorable these days.
