Leads to madness? Dear sir. Until you've contained a person's madness into a dead mouse, ground it, boiled it, distilled it into an elixir of insanity, and have taken enough of it to see the pineapples and the candles within a man's head, all in order to speak to the invisible Faerie who has stolen away your wife, then I have to say you do not yet know what leads down that path.

In any case, I'm looking forward to reading Brief Cases; most stories I've already heard, though I'm looking forward to reading Day One for the first time.

I believe you forgot the distillation of the caffine as well.

So I looked at my Alex Verus books and confirmed that Ace is a Penguin Random House entity, but why doesn't this one have the ROC label like all the other Dresden Files books I briefly checked before posting this question?

I'm asking from a relative position of ignorance, not knowing the relationship between Ace and ROC other than that they are both Penguin Random House entities.
I can probably shed some light on this, Ace and Roc are what is known in the book trade as "imprints", smaller divisions of the larger entity that is Penguin Random House. The logo on the book will display which imprint the book was published by, so Roc with the previous ones and Brief Cases should have the Ace logo on it.

Personally, I'm still waiting to read the story about Murph's broken arm.   (I've been out of the loop a while, so it may already be out).

No. I can't say it hasn't been written, but it has not been published.

A little bummed because I was hoping for Cases in spring 2018 and Peace Talks in Fall of 2018. Hoping Peace Talks may still come out in the fall, but I'm guessing winter of 18/19 or early spring of 19 more likely now (under the assumption that the publisher would like some time in between books by the same author to maximize profits). Still excited to get all those short stories in one place. Really looking forward to Day One and the new Maggie/Mouse story.

Day One was a good Butters story. Cold Case was better. And, I hoping that Mouse part of the story gives us some good insight.

I can totally see Mouse rolling his eyes a bunch.

Brief Cases will be coming out first.
Did you hear that? That's the sound of our hopes getting crushed yet again.

Can you feel that? It's the hum of our expectations and tension growing again.

On the positive side, you didn't say that Peace Talks are not coming at all, so I'm guessing it's all good.

I don't celebrate holidays, so any date within 60 days from today is fine by me.
