Dresden Files Cooperative Card Game
« on: April 20, 2016, 08:56:31 AM »
Technically, this isn't roleplaying game material, but I suspect that a lot of RPGers would be interested in backing this KickStarter for a Dresden Cooperative Card Game (from Evil Hat):

;)

But I suppose it's still worth mentioning here, as some people might only be coming to this neck of the woods rather than browsing the entire forum.

I would've missed it if not for this thread.

Anyway, it looks like the project's off to a great start. They ought to reach their last announced stretch goal pretty soon, and there's still 28 days to go...

Yeah I also would have missed it if not for this. At this rate I would think they'll get up to Small Favor easily. Who do you all think will be added in the 3rd Expansion? My guess is Marcone.

Expansion 3 is already up there, featuring Luccio and Ramirez. I think we can reasonably predict who is going to turn up in the next expansions too.

Expansion 4 - Changes & Ghost Story. The Leanansidhe and McCoy/Vadderung.

Expansion 5 - Cold Days & Skin Game. Demonreach (alternately Sarissa or Cat Sith) and Goodman Grey.

Damn, this one is exploding. I'm really looking forward to where we can get this. I hope we get it to a point where we have all the books. We'll probably not get all the characters we want, because we'd want them all, but having all the books should at least also cover most of the important characters.

I don't even care that it'll cost me a liver to get it shipped over here.

The Kickstart is not going to produce more than these three expansions. There might be more coming after the game is actually published, but SmF/TC with Ramirez and Luccio is the last for now.

And Haru - where are you located? Most of EU will cost $20 shipping (that's what mine will cost), so Base Game + 3 x Expansion + Shipping will be ~$90. Not too violent for a boardgame even if I'm unsure if I can afford the expansions, since I'm unemployed....

I just saw the breakdown, yeah. I live in Germany, shipping from the USA is usually much worse. But it seems they found a way around that. Awesome.

Yeah, they're importing the shipment to the UK, then shipping it from there :p

Plus, it looks like as the next few* stretch goals will, among other things, grant a reduction in shipping costs, up to $10 off.

*By which I mean, "10".

I "accidently" just pledged for the kickstarter. Looks really nice.  Yeah, the shipping for things from the US is often horrible. And at least from the point of view of the Swedish department of taxation, a crowdfunding as that is subject to taxation, so I should add upp to 25% VAT* on the cost, and then might also have to pay duty-fees on such purchases.

* Depends a bit on what is bought, but 25% being the top. I believe books in physical form is just 6%, electronic form though has the full 25%..

I have not lost my mind, it is backed up somewhere on disc...

I think we might get around the VAT in this case since they'll import it to UK first, but I'm not sure... (Fellow swede here ;) )

Yeah, it is the shipping that have me on the fence, but I might pledge in the future, after all one of the stretch goals(the last one I think) is that backers get to read chapter one of peace talks.

Shipping is down to 15$ now, I think that's already fair. Though I am almost certain that the circle of gratitude will be completed, so it'll be 10$ shipping. And as far as I understand it, the Expansions aren't going to increase shipping, as they are small enough to fit in with the original package.

And yay, Vampire Susan has been unlocked. Very cool.
