Even if he went, he might not be an official convention guest. Lots of people do unofficial stuff.

True, but if he is going, I would expect some sort of panel.  If not actually at SDCC, then there would be more reason to let ppl know.  Much like that dinner that was near NYCC.

So I assume one of these options is true.  1. The details aren't in place. 2. Things like this are secret until the last minute.  3. Jim isn't coming.

I know SDCC will be a blast with or without Jim, but it would be nice if he's there.

Driving down from the Bay Area for the Wed pre show and staying though to Monday. (Last year I missed the Brown-coat event on Sunday)  ???

Wishing for a Jim B event but if not I still save a brand new $20 bill (or slightly used one) maybe a change jar considering the cost of the rooms :>

Thursday schedule is up.  http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci11_prog_thu.php

(Remember, the schedule isn't always completely accurate.  People appearing may change, etc.)

I got thursday tickets, but think I"m going to be spending the day in line for next year's tickets.

HURRAH!  We can finally announce that Jim WILL be in attendance!

Thursday

1:15-2:15 Books vs. Graphic Novels and Comics— Writers often dabble with various forms of art as an outlet for their creativity. In this panel, authors discuss the process and collaboration involved in publishing a graphic novel versus a novel, as well as the role comic books play in the creation of their characters and story arcs. Panelists Christopher Moore and Ian Corson (The Griff), Jim Butcher (The Harry Dresden series), Tom Sniegoski (The Fallen series), Amber Benson (The Calliope Reaper Jones novels), and Matthew Holms (Babymouse, Squish) talk about the differences and similarities with moderator David Mariotte of Mysterious Galaxy. Room 6A

More info will be released when I'm given permission to release it. :D

Friday schedule is up.

This caught my eye:

7:00-8:00 What's Up with Penguin—  Anne Sowards (executive editor, Ace/Roc), Jessica Wade (senior editor, Ace/Roc), and Erin Dempsey  (director of trade marketing, Penguin Young Readers Group) give you the dish on forthcoming books from such exciting authors and licensed properties as Jim Butcher, Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, S. M. Stirling, Rachel Caine, Heather Brewer, Richelle Mead, Kathy Reichs, John Flanagan, and many others. You can expect lots of giveaways you won't see anywhere else at the convention, including free advance reading copies! Room 9

So possible ARC of Ghost Story????

So possible ARC of Ghost Story????

You know that panel is four days before GS' official release, right?  An ARC wouldn't be too terribly "advanced." :D

Okay, I'm not 100% sure if I'm clear to share this information, but as the news is bound to come out in the next few days anyway... Thanks to an agreement between Penguin and Mysterious Galaxy, Ghost Story will be available for sale at San Diego Comic Con.

Here is Jim's full SDCC schedule, which I know I am clear to share:

Thursday, 11AM - 12:30PM, AA18
Signing

Thursday, 1:15PM - 2:15PM, 6A
Panel: Books vs. Graphic Novels and Comics

Thursday, 2:45PM - 3:45PM, AA2
Signing with other panelists

Friday, 11AM - 12:30PM, AA19
Signing

Saturday, 4PM - 5:30 PM, AA19
Signing

I *believe* that Jim's signings, with the exception of the post-panel signing on Thursday, will be ticketed by lottery.  This has not yet been confirmed, though.  I'll get you the info as I receive it.
