Arizona Book Festival April 14th

Hello all,

I'm working with the book festival for our overall SF/F panels.  In addition to Jim, we'll have a good number of our authors who live in the area turning out.  I thought I'd see if there how many people on here are from the Phoenix area and are likely to turn up.

Right now, Jim's talk should be at 2:30 pm and we'll likely be doing the signing afterwards.

Other authors scheduled include Emily Devenport/Lee Hogan, Ernest Hogan, Adam Niswander, Emma Bull, Will Shetterly, Dennis L. McKiernan, Jeff Mariotte,  John Vornholt aka Caroline Goode, Michelle M. Welch,  Diana Gabaldon, Alan Dean Foster, Melanie Rawn, Evo Terra, Michael Mennenga, Summer Brooks, Michael A. Stackpole, Derek Benz, J. S. Lewis, James A. Owen, and Janni Lee Simner.

The Friday event on the schedule is a private reception for the Humanities Council that is putting on the Book Festival.

Saturday will be an hour talk with Jim (current schedule has it at 2 pm) with a signing afterwards. 

Jim is also making an appearance at the Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale the next day at noon.

Jim's Weekend in Phoenix update

It looks like the Arizona Book Festival Author Reception is open to the public on Friday night April 13th.  In prior years it was either private or they didn't really publicize it.  It costs $25 and includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages.  Borders will be there with books for sale.   Details are on the book festival website at http://azbookfestival.org/authors_reception.html .

The weekend schedule is as follows for Jim:

Friday night (April 13th) - Book Festival Reception 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Ellis-Shackelford House, 1242 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.

Saturday (April 14th) - Arizona Book Festival - Panel 2:00 pm on the SRP Stage, signing at CASFS Booth (H10) afterwards.  1101 W. Washington St, Phoenix, AZ  www.casfs.org/azbookfest & www.azbookfestival.org  Also appearing at the book festival are Jane Yolen, Alan Dean Foster, Michael Stackpole, Diana Gabaldon, Jeff Mariotte, Melanie Rawn, Dennis McKiernan and several other local SF/F authors.
