Why would this be so?

The big novel-event stuff Harry seems to be wrestling with in Christmas Story is fallout from PT.

In Harry's life (not order of release), it seems to be:
 PT --> Xmas-short --> MM

Have I missed something?  What makes you think MM comes before the short?
