Breaking an promise sworn upon power for a Wizard?
« on: July 26, 2010, 06:06:09 AM »
Hi guys.

How much power would a Wizard lose if he breaks a promise sworn upon his power?
I think I might have messed up one of my characters, either be cause he inherently from me isen´t thinking fast enough or because he´s to controlled by his emotions and not thinking straight at this point in game, which I guess then just is playing him in his correct "frame of mind"
Is there some rule that governs how much a Wizard is weakened if he goes "screw it" and breaks an oath?
I´ll have to check, but I´ve been told that my Wizard is at a stronger level than Harry is in the books, so if I get weakened by a little enough margin that I end at Harry´s level of power I think he might do it. But if he´s weakened too much I think he´s reluctant to  do it, maybe just being more careful about it.

You can check out the sidebar on Your Story p274 for the low down on oathbreaking it's pretty bad, I wouldn't recommend doing it.

see GP.  Bad things happen to you.   Also remember at that point in GP harry didn't HAVE much power anymore.  Kravos had taken most of it from him.   And harry broke his promise to lea and was taken completely out of action.  He couldn't do ANYTHING but curl up into the foetal position.    Not a good idea.
