DF Spoilers / fake news dresden files ( Parady posting)
« on: May 18, 2019, 04:32:33 AM »
in the absence of information  thought it would be fun to post some fake spoilers about the up coming book. the rules for posting is that you have to build your fake spoiler  off the privies fake spoiler.

my fake spoiler is
ivy arrives in town for the peace talks early and ends up watching Maggie and bonnie while Dresden and Kinkaid travel to demon reach.

now who ever posts next has to expand  on this spoiler I gave …..the idea is to come up with a fake outline of the upcoming book.   have fun with it and fanboy away

Karen  is going to be regulated to being a side character. she is eventually is going to Mary Dresden and take on the role of step mother to Maggie.  this is not going to mean she is written out of the story it just means she will no longer be seeking to be the one who takes on the big bad monster. I am sure she will still have times that she does bad assery and kick some supernatural butt. now it will be her avoiding it but every once in a while being forced into kicking butt in defense of loved ones.

like I said someone will have to ask Jim Butcher if the break caused him to rework the book and put in a new sub plot...

I think the reason for the book being so many chapters is that he wrote 1/3 the book and then ended up having to take two year break on writing....when working on a project like a book you never stop thinking about what you are writing even if you cant write. I bet Jim Butcher  came up with another plot line to weave into the story and ended up rewriting a great deal of the chapters he all ready had written. this new plot line ended up also adding another 12 chapters to the book....this is my guess and if I ever meet him at Q and A I am going to ask him.  if I am right I think the plot line was created when he wrote the short story Zoo day.

I love suggesting authors to people.  theses authors are ones that don't get very much buzz but are really good.

Melissa F. Olson  writes the old world series...

John G. Hartness .    two difrent series. knight detective agencie . Buba monster hunters .

Lutheran here not catholic but a lot of are traditions are close to th same..Christmas night in a large church might have 3 or 4 services. Growing up as kids my parents would take us kids  to the 5 pm service because it just was a lot easier when you have little kids to go at that time because you  want them fed and in bed by 9 pm. later on  when they are older the midnight service might be fun too do . there also also could be a Christmas morning service . if Michael or charity wants father Anthony Forthill  to do the mas he you might have choose an earlier service.

DF Spoilers / Re: Skingame - why was Nicodemus hurtable?
« on: December 30, 2018, 06:01:27 AM »
it states in the book why Dresden can hurt nicodemus Dresden figured out that the noose protected nicodemus from death but he could be hurt with the noose on  … fatal stab in the chest not fatal but hurts. Dresden also realized also that the one object protecting nicodamids can be used to kill him. So Dresden after hurting him enough to slow him down grabs the noose and uses it to try and kill him by choking the life out of him.

if you  read the books since Maggie was introduced the character has always been about two years behind other kids emotionally.  The character is a child that had been severely traumatized by the red court vampires. the girl saw her foster parents and siblings being used as food by vampires who because she was just chattel to them and a eventual sacrifice was not treated will and might even had been fed upon by the same vampires that killed her family.  Traumatized children sometimes regress. I love the way Jim is treating the character because the Author  is not instantly having her be the typical  nine or ten year old the character instead the character is having to deal with the fact that she was abused extremely both physically and emotionally.

I honestly think that Jim butcher is burned out for the moment on the Dresden files.  I am sure he plans to finish the series but writing needs inspiration and he started this series when he was in college.  I figure that the more pressure the fan base puts on him the longer it will be till he gets back too writing it. The man puts out Quality work and if he is going to write that is what I want and suggest everyone give the guy space. I know it been over 4 years since the last book and I am just as frustrated but I respect the artist and part of that is realizing that for his best work we need t just wait.

DF Spoilers / Re: Juxtaposition, Who fixed LC?
« on: June 29, 2018, 04:04:22 AM »
yes probably it belongs to bonnie for sevral reasons.

1. Maggie was not even a character that Jim had thought about having at the time he wrote proven guilty.

2. Bob is in to romance novels so it would make sense that bonnie a younger version of Bob who at this point is a child would be into reading Calvin and hobs as opposed to a romance novel

I think a time traveling Harry with Maggie or Bonnie fixed Little Chicago.  the evidence is that harry finds a Calvin and hobs comic book in his lab and has no idea how it got there. I don't think that the author would ad this detail unless it was important. my interpretation is that who ever fixed Little Chicago left behind the comic book. I think the book belongs to Maggie or Bonnie.
