hello everyone, nearly 10 years ago I started on my Quest to get a brownie to keep house for me. At this point I am at my wits end. there is only so much laundry you can ignore before being forced to actually not be a slob. I am starting to wonder if I blew it the day I started to advertise about my desire to get a brownie to do my housework. I am beginning to suspect that one does not advertise for a service Like brownie housekeeping because it is the same as admitting you have them. I would take down this advertisement if I thought it would help but I suspect that it won't.  for anyone looking for brownies to do your housework I suggest that the best option is to whisper it into the wind and hope to be heard by one of the fae. It has become obvius to me that the day I decided to advertise is the day that I ruined my chances .

I have yet to find brownies brave enough clean my House.  at this point I am will hire a changeling with brownie parentage.

grew up with 7 siblings of witch 4 were adopted.  the trauma that breaks the soul happens at a very young age. I have an adopted brother who is in jail for murdering his girl friend  and there might be more women he murdered over the years  before he got caught. My brother is a sociopath. My brother had his soul destroyed before my parents ever adopted him. the way this happens is that at a young age trust in others is not learned becouse of physical and sexual abuse. I dont know the details of what happen to him what I do no is that his mom was a prostitute who was turning tricks for a biker gang. I know that her johns molested him and that he grew up never knowing if he was going to get to eat that day. This all happen before the age of six and was his whole life till he got abandoned at his grandmas house. She ended up a year later putting him in foster care at the age of seven becouse she could not handle him.

Maggie was never traumatized over an extended period of time like my brother. Maggie had loving foster parents that took care of her she did not have her spirit broken instead she saw her foster parents slaughtered and was held by vampires for a month maybe two. that traumatized Maggie but she did not lose her ability to care about others. Jim actualy does a good job portraying her reaction to the trauma  in that she is emotionally delayed and has a maturity level of a much younger child.  I would not be surprised if he consulted some child trauma experts before he wrote anything extensive about her.

11 years ago I discovered my roommate dead by an aneurism.  I can tell you from personnel experience in how I found my roommate that it looked like it could of been the result of a white court vampire attack.    I came home from playing board games with friends at 2 am in the morning.  the place was an old Victorian style house that had been a rooming house since it was built in the 1880s. the land lord lived downstairs and there were 3 rooms for rent upstairs, each room was almost its own apartment only there was no bathroom except for one shared bathroom for all three rooms. When I got home at 2 am I made ready for bed and went down the hall passing his room. When I passed is room the door was open and I glanced in. what I saw was him nude on the bed and he looked to be pleasuring himself. I Quickly looked away and thought oh my god he is a pervert he wanted me to catch him doing this. At the time I had only roomed with the person about 6 weeks and really did not know the guy will. I went took a shower and when I returned to my room I did not look in on purpose. next day I get up in the morning go to the bath room and the door is wide open and he is in the same position he was in from the night before. only now I realize that somethings wrong. I go into his room and feel his neck looking for a pulse his body is cold and dead.  on his face is a big smile.  I call 911 and wait for the police down stairs in my land lords living room.2 weeks later I find out that had died around noon time the previous day from a aneurism.  the guy had a smile on his face just like other white court victims in the Dresden files.  side note the police believe that he had taken a shower and was getting ready  when he realized something was wrong went back to his room sat down on bed naked picked up phone dropped the phone and died with his hands at his crotch.  years later I look at this and wonder was he actualy the victim of the white court feeding.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

speaking as a 55 year old man who never got married and never had kids. I love it when Butcher  writes about being father.  I am very aware that I am in a minority and my enjoyment comes from my desire to have been a parent at some point in my life.    I like it but story wise for the series it does not fit. years ago Mr Butcher said he wrote Susan out of Harrys  life because it created a trap to fall into with his writing. The trope of Susan being the damsel in distress that harry has to save every book she is in.  Maggie is the same sort of trap.

would love 12 short stories over a years time...it would reestablish his connection to Chicago. would love to see a book that shows dresden involved in a storry that is smaller in scale.  Shakespeare wrote the comedy the merry wives of Windsor and much ado about nothing it would be fun if Jim butcher  decided to a book that was a comedy rather then epic story.

I was just thinking how funny it would be for harry to be summoned into a mirror universe on his wedding day effectively abandoning Lara Raith  at the alter.
