My searchfu is still crap...

Can someone help me find lists of example potions/ examples of how much lore is needed for potions?

In Ragnarok, one of the PCs is something similar to this (reluctantly) and we're treating it as a Sponsored Thaum Spell.

DFRPG / Characters from Fandom?
« on: August 06, 2013, 12:39:16 AM »
I figure there has to be one laying around somewhere, but my search skills on this forum are lacking.

One of the things I love to see/do is make up characters from popular culture into a system (What would Batman look like in DFRPG? Superman? Etc).

Troy from Ragnarok has done this as practice at our site, but I was curious if there was one of those threads sitting around somewhere here.

A player in my current group had a character like that at one time, the way we explained his current state was that the two magical components in him were vying for control (represented by Demonic Co-Pilot) , which caused mood swings, very brief fits of bloodthirsty instinct, and general fun stuff that made it both easy and thematically enjoyable to compel.

We stated him up as usual with faerie powers available at all times while any vampiric abilities were governed by Feeding Dependency but chose cold iron as the most potent weakness with holy stuff as a moderate discomfort which we treated as a negative aspect instead (using slightly modified Limitation). In the end we agreed that if his vampire side weakened the Sidhe side would boot it, and vice versa.
This sounded awesome.

DFRPG / Re: Most Interesting Reasons for Powers
« on: July 30, 2013, 02:19:40 AM »
There is a character in my game who has been sharing brainspace with a spirit of justice from the Nevernever (sort of like Lasciel). Part of his back story was that he was captured and turned by the Red Court. The spirit intervened and prevented him from changing, which unfortunately resulted in her spirit being permanently bonded to his soul. The end result was that he has physical abilities similar to that of a vampire but that are mostly dependent on the spirit's nature (as in he will begin loosing his powers if he indulges in revenge or shows mercy).
Sounds more like Ghost Rider than Lasciel

Similar question. Does it work to resist the mental stress from using the Sight?
Of course.

If you're especially good at keeping your cool mentally, why wouldn't it apply to seeing something mind boggling?

DFRPG / Old/New Versions

Hey folks,

Could someone tell me what the differences between the two versions of Your Story is?

We've been running into the differences over at Ragnarok.

Somehow I don't think Dragons (t he real kind) take a measly -2 Refresh version of Breath.

Actual People Actual Play had a Gaimainian fallen star from the bow of Athena.

Something dipped in the river Styx, an Achilles heel sort of spot, Centaur Blood, Nemean Animal Fangs...  all interesting greek-flavored weaknesses. Also could involve the blood of a Titan or that certain divine magics just bypass toughness as part of /their/ powers. I could see having Medusa's gaze being a super powered "breath" weapon of sorts that ignores toughness.

Yes.

Says right there in the power description, "all physical stress".

Not sure what you mean about Recovery.
Yes, of course they would.

Sanctaphrax, as usual, has it right

To be slightly more specific along the same lines as Lavecki -- If you tag it for effect (compelling the NPCs) it is up to the GM to "buy off" the compel with the NPCs fatepoints if they choose not to pass out.

DFRPG / Zone Question

I'm listening to the Knights of the Night podcast, and the question of "Is a zone for a car the same for a zone on foot?"
