I don't think he can turn it on or off, consciously or unconsciously.  It's a force field around him, or a rose, or a ring, all the time.  The only thing that changes is the hunger in the Wamp, which is on or off.  If the hunger is off, then contact can be made, like between him and Thomas, or him and Lara in White Night.  Only if the Wamp's hunger is always on, like Madeline's in Turn Coat, is the protection a threat to the Wamp.

This suggests that Lara is either walking around always on, with no control over her hunger, or she's so attracted to Harry that she can't help but be attracted to him, and the hunger feels it too.

He told her no, more than once- and he's obviously attracted to her, so it's not that she's lost it.

To a certain kind of woman, that's irresistible. It's the only kind of woman Butcher seems to write- Mab feels that way about him as Winter Knight over his defiance.

There's a question of who knows what at play.

How well-known is the paternity of Maggie, daughter of Fellowship of St. Giles member Susan Rodriguez? How well known was the kidnapping? How well-known was the strike of the Eebs? Their end in the Erlking's hall?

There are paths where the assassination attempt on Harry, followed by his elimination of the Red Court, occur, far more easily than the true story.

Heck, Mab was *not* subtle about claiming Harry. And he immediately charged into Chicken Itza alongside the Leanansidhe.

If Alfred has blood, it would be super awesome. Or using it as the Warden on Demonreach.

Does the owner need to be on the property? Or could he use it on the castle and then skedaddle to Demonreach?

She didn't give it. She told him it existed and he'd be wise to do it, but that's it.

If she'd given it, he'd have to do it. Fits the letter of their agreement.

The White Council officially knows about the island and ley line.  The Gray Council knows about Bob and Amoracchius from Changes.  Seems likely that at least Vadderung knows about the items from Hades vault, given his habit of knowing things.  Someone recognized Margaret's necklace in BG (can't recall who at the moment).  The Eye of Balor is highly suspected.  Everyone saw the Little Folk answer his call.

I'd say it should be very obvious to everyone that he's OP.
Poor Carlos.  If only he'd been a little more understanding, Harry might have let him take a nap with the Shroud for a bit.
I think we've got Mirror Mirror, the wrestling book, and maybe two to three more casefiles before the BAT.  Should be interesting to see where things end up, but I'm wondering how long it'll be before he ends up becoming the Baron of Chicago himself.  I figured Marcone would last until the BAT, playing the Uther to Harry's Merlin, but I'm not so sure now.

The WoJ on reincarnation - I don't like the idea of Harry being Merlin, unless Marcone is the reincarnated Arthur.

Which is why it's going to be about mirroring and politics and then the apocalypse.

Harry's become a high-end middleweight. It is no longer worth trying to take him out via slugging match. It'll go badly even if you win.

So the arena his enemies target him in changes.

Mirror Mirror will be about him against an alternate Harry. I'm sure this alternate Harry has embraced powerful upgrades like a low-level Darkhallow or similar, and he's been able to overcome other alternate Harrys by outclassing them- and "our" Harry is the first one on his power level. If it's Highlander rules, our Harry needs to convince alt Harry to take the hit. I'm veering towards alt Harry doesn't have a Maggie or lost his. Harry ends up with some artifact or something he lost restored, like his kinetic energy rings or fancy shield bracelet. Maybe the classic Maggie/Bonea has the gun on the two of them.

Next book will be politics, and needing to fight, say, Langtry where Langtry excels.

Then the Apocalypse, where it's not he can't deal with any threat, but it's the equivalent of 16 Ethnius striking at once and he can only take them 1:1.

Has Jim confirmed no more children for Harry?

He's had two with three paramours.

Bradley.

There's no body and no proof. But Bradley.

He used to fear and respect her.

Now he just respects her.

I think it's less a matter of him becoming comfortable with her- Eb's fear- and more a matter of compared to monsters like Mab, she's pretty human- and he's becoming a bit monstrous himself.

I also think she's been backing off on the seduction mojo with him because it didn't work and he's gotten dangerous (if the Winter Knight gets too excited, the result might be violence). Which has been letting him see the pretty girl with the bold and clever plans more, which is absolutely one of his turn-ons.

Freydis was little help with the kraken, comparatively. As an immortal, she'd have a lot of juju.

EDIT: Also, she was healing slowly- for her- from the pucker marks. She had time to dress and they were still there. So her tank was still on the low side.

She needed to feed at the end of PT. Badly.

And if it comes to it, a White Court vamp can probably recklessly pop an ampethamine or thirty and not worry about health risks.

Could be. But I have a toddler at home (limited ability to scan through my books) and wanted to compare instances and see if it is or if it's an actual hidden plot point. So I'm pitching it to the community, so anyone who finds it intriguing can pitch in.

Sound like a really weird dirty Oscar Wilde reference there. I assume these friends are all...special

Lloyd Slate, I think. But I recall it happening with at least one Denarian episode.

Nemesis was there in Aurora.
