DF Spoilers / Re: Grey Council Identities
« on: November 01, 2018, 09:32:47 PM »
I previously posted this in another thread but it got zero response, likely because everyone thought I was crazy:

Mavra.  She thwarts Cowl’s efforts to get the Word of Kemmler and had had it for years, yet never attempted the Darkhallow.  She teaches Bianca sorcery, yes, but she also probably helped coax Bianca into starting the War that ultimately wiped out the Reds. Plus, she may have been behind the poisoning of Susan, thus bringing about the birth of Maggie and the plan to use the Blood Curse.  Plus she was conspicuously absent from her own lair when Harry raided it, perhaps because she got a tip from her old friend McCoy? She’s playing the long game to eliminate her rivals.

My picks are:
Martha Liberty
The Erlking or Eldest Gruff
Maybe Wild Bill Meyers but he seems a bit young

DF Spoilers / Re: Dear Jim

Don’t obfuscate this. JB has given up on us. It is what it is. The bs anthologies are nothing more than an (poor) attempt to keep readers happy. Write a novel if you care so much about your fans. I show up to work everyday just like you.

DF Spoilers / Dear Jim
« on: April 14, 2018, 08:09:05 PM »
Dear Jim:

Your fan community is dying. What was once a verdant and energetic scene is now defunct. We used to theorize, speculate, and obsess over detail. Now we don’t even recall the bliss of sample chapters or surprising twists. You’ve left us hanging, man, and it hurts.
But that pain fades.

I check for updates on Peace Talks less and less. I no longer wonder about Cowl’s identity or who fixed Little Chicago. It was fun while you cared enough to actually write some stuff, but I guess it’s over now.

Wish it could have ended differently. I would have followed you the end, to the very fires of Mordor.

I liked him using the Chinese sword in Changes... kinda fits with his inner geek and fighting style.

I posted my thoughts over on the Observation Deck at io9, here's a link:

All in all, I loved this book.  Feel free to comment at the site.

I've always just assumed that Mac is The White God, taking a back seat while reality plays itself out. He's always wearing a white shirt, using a white rag.  Harry even desribed Mac's beer as "God's own beer" and the guy has the respect of Odin, Mab, and everyone else.  The only beings who have dared defy him so far are The Outsiders.
