An anthology of the Knights sounds good, but it should include at least one Historical Winter Knight, Tam Lin, as well as one historical Summer Knight,  Ronald Ruel, perhaps,  in a team up with a Knight of the Sword?

I know Tam Lin has come up before in the forum. Remind me---Has Jim referenced Tam Lin specifically, or are the references just forum-related? In my VERY short internet search, he's rescued by his love on Halloween.

I wonder if we've even met Harry's true love, yet. Certainly, he loves faithfully and truly--ie Susan and Murphy.  And if Harry is Tam Lin, or Tam Lin-like, then who rescues him from Mab (or some other faerie queen) and the WK mantle?

Thoughts?

Thanks---Brien

I'm loving these ideas! Thanks for responding.

I like the idea of Influence.

Question: If you could have a prequel to the Dresden Files utilizing characters from the series (either known explicitly or only alluded to), who would you most want to see and why?

I think Maggie's (Mama Dresden) Adventures in the Never Never could be fun. What started as a mapping of the Ways would lead to all kinds of adventures. (Or maybe her adventures led to the mapping of the Ways.) And maybe along the way, we find out what makes Malcolm a truly good man.

Hope all are well here in the Dresden forum. Cheers---Brien

I agree:  I think we may well see Mother Winter depart, and the Mantle suck Mab out from under the Winter Queen mantle... and if Molly is still Winter Lady...

Are we sure that would happen? One ascends to the next level? We've only seen what happens when one of the Winter Ladies is killed and the Mantle passes to one most suited. If Mab were killed, could Mother Winter could hold her Mantle or bestow it on someone other than Molly? Or, if Mother Winter was done, could Mab hold her Mantle until she was prepped or a Winter Queen was prepped?

Just spitballing here.

Cheers---B

At this rate, I suspect Toot must veil while flying about or be seen as some child-sized flying whatever.

Or maybe it was just an oversight. Not nearly as fun.

DF Spoilers / Re: Rebuilding (Little) Chicago.

I'm rereading Small Favor. Luccio pulls out a map of ley lines that was given to her from  Listens to Wind. North and South Manitou Island(s) are listed as a source of dark power, but two hundred miles north of Chicago.

I wonder if all these Ley Lines create nexus points that can be exploited by Harry, as the Warden. I'm just thinking that with all the baddies currently jailed on DR, you'd think there would be a hack for getting them there. If anyone can, Harry will figure it out.

Anyway--Maybe BLC can be working into the Ley Line maps and then connected to the Castle and the tower on DR. Or something like that.

No one, Harry takes it from Eb not necessarily upon his death and returns it to Mother Winter earning a huge favour, and removing from the White Council a major magical artefact, which allowed it to act with rank hypocrisy. Harry would see that as a win-win.

Is this the "Chosen one restoring balance to the universe" thing?

Side note thought...

My cousin was a police chief in a small town for about 25 years and in that time saw a lot of officers come and go. The one thing he said that made the most sense with regards to this question of who gets it is that the last person you want in that position of authority is someone who can't wait to be there. I think Eb was the right person for the Blackstaff because he valued all that was beautiful and amazing about magic (that he imparted to Harry) and that he'd only use it if no other decision could be made. I'm starting to think that the Blackstaff (actual) is similar to one of the Swords in that the wielder must be right for the job.

Consider Winter's calculating and pragmatic approach to decision making and (if it really is Mother Winter's walking stick), how Eb was chosen to be its bearer. What dire circumstance was at hand (How long has Eb had it?) when Eb was chosen (or chose) to be the Blackstaff? Was he, like Harry, a tool to be wielded by Winter? I think that's a story I might like to read.

Just yapping.

Cheers and best to you around the globe!

Brien

WoJ says there are three others, but they're little more than mosquitoes.

Thanks!

It maybe just a thread, but the ease at which drakul flung him basically beyond reality gives another stitch to the idea each of the seven vampire courts comes from a violation/conjunction of one the laws of magic 🤔
Blamps already having to do with reaching beyond the outer gates imo. To give the original the ability to do so with ease...

Wait...there are Seven? I thought 4--White Court, Black Court, Red Court (Presumed extinct except for the Eebs?), and Jade (little known and probably never to be seen.)

What did I miss?

If Chandler were a Michael, or Butters, or someone who's been around a lot, I could see it.  As he is right now?  I don't see it.  I see him either being an enemy in plain sight, or now a slave of Drakul.

Either he got Carlos to assign him to the mission, or Carlos was manipulated into bringing him, in my opinion.  I believe Drakul wanted Chandler specifically which is why he wasn't killed like the others.  Either way, it wouldn't make much sense for Drakul to get him, only for Chandler to sneak away on his own.  If he does escape, it's because Drakul wanted him to (let him go).  Remember him mentioning that he sometimes promises people immortality?  Hmmmm

Umm....yep.Bad guy.

Well we knew his specialty was time magic, so him being the talking head in MM to explain things makes sense.

Can we get a reference for this? It's spoken of frequently, but I don't remember where we learn this. Or is it just a WoJ?

Thanks---B

Oh. And I still think Chandler's a bad guy.

Ooooh. I like that one, Mira. If not a vessel for the leyline energy, then what?
