Hows that cheaper ?
3 coins for 3€, makes 10€ for 10 coins, versus 7 Australian Dollars for 10 coins.
Given the Exchange rate that's about twice as expensive.

My fault. I saw the number of coins later, too - luckily, before any ordering... ::) For now, I'm using glass gems and look further for some fine coins...

DFRPG / Re: Swarms

While keeping the fight on an individual basis might be more precise, it's also more complicated. 24 pixies might work, but not 240 rats...
Therefore, I would give the swarm an attack and a damage value for each opponent thea can reach and a number of stress boxes. For a certain number of stress boxes deleted, the attack and the damage lessens.
For defense, I would reverse this. A huge swarm is vulnerable. Strike somewhere and you will hit something. With lesser members of the swarm, they can act more individal and defend themselves. So huge swarm = low defense, small swarm = better defense.

I have found this: http://www.amazon.de/Simba-902638-Pirate-Pound-Sammelm%C3%BCnzen/dp/B000OZN2L0
Seems as good as Watsons coins and much cheaper...  ;)

That seems a bit too expensive for me - they're still just tokens. But I think you can find something like this in Germany...

@aardvark: That's ggod news, thank you...! :)
@Arcteryx: In most cases, I woul agree with you. However, as in most cases even the possesion of weapons in Germany is illegal, this can bring up many problems. And for some of these problems a simple refuse of a compel doesn't work IMO.
But I think if one of the characters has a license because of his background, most other stuff is up to roleplaying and smart using of  the weapons...

DFRPG / Weapons and the law
« on: August 26, 2011, 06:16:18 AM »
Hi,
I'm thinking a lot about how to deal with the weapon laws in Germany (only for my DF-campaign, that is... ;)). In the books as well as in YS, wepaons are an integral part to defend (or to attack) your enemies. In the US, this seems plausible, because you have the right to own weapons and it is relatively easy to carry a weapon. In Germany, even owning weapons is strictly prohibited and carrying a weapon in the public is illigal for everyone (besides the police). So I fear that using weapons will bring the characters some trouble. On the other side, it's a part of the game - most people have no other choice to fight the monsters, haven't they?
So, any suggestions how to handle this or some experience from european players?

I like those too. I'm still looking for some nice fate-tokens myself. Maybe they have these coins in Germany, too...

Hehe... ;D I like that thread!

So, assuming themouse is right and Lovecraft intended to warn others not to mess with outsiders, maybe he did that because at that time, the White Council thought of it as agood idea only to reverse it later...?

Hi,
simple question: Was HP Lovecraft trying to do the same to outsiders as Bram Stroker to Black Court Vampires by writing stories about them...?

DFRPG / Re: 7th law violations and non-spellcasters
« on: August 24, 2011, 12:19:54 PM »
I always interpreted the laws as something that applies to those who are magic active. Those people are aware enough to how the unsiverse is built that they are aware of the consequences of their doing. So in this view, nonspellslingers are not obligated to obey the Laws nor are they affected by them in terms of Lawbreaker powers.
Or am I totally wrong...?

DFRPG / Re: Starting Power level
« on: August 23, 2011, 10:40:47 AM »
No experience yet, but we will meet soon to develop some characters an I decided to start with refresh 8 becaus 10 seemed too powerful to me.
The Power itself is not of concern, but as a newbie to the system I thought it would be more relaxed to find out some of the rules and bugs whith not so powerful characters...

@ Sanctaphrax: Thank's for the input. Your suggestion was, what I had in my mind. So, it was more a translation-related problem since i wrote the stunt in german and then tried to translate it for this thread... ::)
