I think the germs are mother summer. She is all about growth.

That was also my impression. A Warden isn't needed around the clock. In normal times, maybe once a century.
Besides, LaFortier may have been very powerful, but I didn't get a fighter vibe from him in Summer Knight., I got "schemer/politician". He also defended himself physically instead of magically against Luccio the night he died, which suggests very limited combat experience. There are tons of solutions between holding your arms up to block the knife and Avada Kedavra.
Not necessarily. Except from the gatekeeper white council members continuously seem to know less than expected. Senior council members included here.

DF Spoilers / Re: Molly's cellphone ...
« on: July 06, 2022, 06:56:10 AM »
Before Molly became the winter lady she had to the same effect on technology as Harry. It is mentioned a few times. For example in the warrior short story:

“Molly sat on a blanket underneath a tree maybe ten yards away, with earbuds trailing wires down into her shirt's front pocket, as if she was listening to a digital music player. It was an effort to blend into the background, I supposed, since she couldn't have been listening to one of those gizmos any more than I could have.”

The cellphone was just a cry out to Harry that Molly was not completely human anymore.

If you start a soul gaze with someone without a soul it does not mean nothing will happen. In some cases you open yourself for attack. Try soulgaze a red court vampire for example.

Google
That happened all the time with most gods in Greece. That is why these gods have different second names depending on the local tradition.

True, but in the case of the Greek verses Roman, the names get changed but the myths remain almost the same.
Even within Greece local gods were identified with the dominant one but local traditions were kept. Artemis of Ephesus was a totally different person than Artemis of Sparta.

It is more complicated than that. Sometimes a god was imported but often a local god was identified as a Roman god. That happened everywhere in the Roman Empire. That way you got a multitude of local varieties of the same god with different rituals and stories.

I hate you optimistic types...
It does not always work but sometimes it does. But I do remember.  :)

Exactly. You're the one who's offering. Big difference :) Problem is, if you offer too often, almost everyone, even the most well-intentioned of people will take advantage of you to some degree or another.
Internal monologue will be like: "Oh, I'd like some coffee, but wait a few minutes, Dina will probably make some in a few minutes, and she'll offer to make me a cup."
Or people will start to follow the good example and start offering it too. You will earn a lot about other people that way.

It also protected the bulk of the Paranet.. Yeah, Murphy had other ideas and abandoned her post to go and help Harry.  If she had lived and all those with in the bar had perished because she wasn't there to protect them, how would she have felt?
The placard was there. That was not the place where she could make a difference.

True :D though the current government resembles an unsuccessful Uncle Scrooge.
I mean compare that with Dubai, they only have shopping malls. And more shopping malls. And even more shopping malls.  :)

They should not worry. You have pyramids and sphinxes and the valley of the kings. People want to see these things.

hah. My Dutch friends told me about a heatwave of 37 degrees maybe 8 years ago, they were dying.
Yes, horribly.

Also for a European like me going to Egypt in summer would be  suicide by climate. I have been a week in Dubai for work in December and it was like going from the airco in the hotel to the airco in the car to the airco at work.  The heat was murderous but we did swim a bit in the evening after work.

Where I live three days above 30 Celsius is a heat wave. Officially.

DF Spoilers / Re: Lara and Harry sitting in a tree.......?
« on: June 11, 2022, 11:22:11 AM »
Didn't one of Lara's sisters signal their support troops at Demonreach with magic? It was always my view that whamps could use some limited forms of magic, equal or less than a mid level sorcerer.
I think magic and whomp powers can sometimes get similar results but they are different things. Vampires are far more specialised. I think an added wizard talent will give more options.
