I think a lot of you are underestimating the potential of mortal wizards.  I mean if kemmler can make even a being like Lab shudder at his mention, and the original Merlin can build a cage so powerful bob had no idea what it was (and its frikin sentient, and on a power level even with mab). Then one of them could have stolen Winters walking stick.  Besides, its not like they would have broken in and stolen it by brute force.  Merlin 1.0 stole the WC a nice little underground fortress on a wager.
Also bare in mind for all Mother Winters power, there are certain rules she has to live by.  She is also the furthest queen from the mortal world, and so it may stand to reason she has the least understanding of how mortals think.  All things a that could be used against her.

As for her not getting it back in the last 1000 years,  I'm sure she's just waiting for the right opertunity.  I don't think slate could have taken Eb no reason to think the last 3 or 4 black staffs where push overs either.

What would be real interesting is if Harry where ordered to retrieve it.

Darkest Hours / Darkest Hour & The Darkest Hour
« on: July 08, 2012, 02:32:15 AM »
Anyone else find it extremely annoying when some one names some form of media SO CLOSE to the title of somthing else that they litraly either add or subtract the word 'The' or 'Of' or such.  As in, Darkest Hour, the really good Spiderman book, and The Darkest Hour, the not so great 2011 sci-fi movie.

Or The Dark Side of the Moon and Dark Side of the Moon.  I mean come on.

OK, so far so good, but all I have to say is, WHERE THE HELL IS THOMAS!?  NOBODY HAS MENTIONED THOMAS!?  WHATS HAPPENED TO THOMAS!?!?!?!

And no Mouse, sad face.

I think the fact that Harry, an admittedly young yet still powerful and knowledgeable enough to be on the WC Wizard, thought the potion to be literally impossible implies it is very advanced.   I mean we are talking about a guy that makes fire, a potion that made everyone ignore him, and another one that was like super lust in a bottle.  If he thinks something is impossible to do(not for him but for anyone), it must at the very least be incredibly hard to do.

and that if any number of folks wanted Harry dead instead of turned, he would be dead right now

well . . . .

Here's something that bothers me about the BC attack on Arctis.  The BC must have known that the only thing keeping the Summer court from helping the council against the vamps was that winter was on summers borders.  So why would they attack Arctis and risk winter pulling back to defend its own territory, thus leaving Summer open to help the Council just as it did when harry 'attacked' Arctis?

Also I think we can all agree that whatever the BC is, they aren't stupid.  What did they think they could possibly gain from this attack?  They must have known going in that they where unlikely to significantly hurt winter or get to Mab.  As per WOJ you can infere that although Mab is pissed about the attack, she didn't think it was all that big a threat as she didn't call for help.

OOOh now I just had another idea.  if Mab did call for help, harry would have had zero chance of breaking in to get Molly.  So maybe Mab would have called in some bigger guns during the fight if it wasn't for the fact that she wanted Harry to come to Molly's rescue (for some reason).  So what if some how the BC KNEW that Mab wouldn't pull her forces off the border, because she needed Harry to be able to get to Molly, so instead she did the whole ' I'll just freeze myself, haha you can't get me' thing and let her normal contingency of guards to beat on.  Maybe thats why Mab is soooo pissed, because for a brief moment her own plans made her vulnerable and the BC was able to act on it... to do... something.... still not sure what they where after.

This could also explain why Mab had most of her muscle on the border to begin with, she needed them away from her center of power or Harry wouldn't have stood a chance.  They did say more then once that what Mab was doing threatening Summer at a time like this didn't make much sense, even for her.  I don't buy into the whole "her knight was off the field" thing cause she could have gotten a knew one at any time.  I think she just needed her Army occupied doing something else right then...  Yeah, I like that idea.

Who takes care of the Archive/Ivy when Kincaid is away on "business"?  Also, she was too young to do anything on her own when she became the Archive.  Who originally hired Kincaid as her protector and did he have to change her diapers?   :D

Wasn't he working for her mother when she was born?

At the risk of repeating myself:

Here's one that's been bugging me for a while:

When Harry's house caught fire in Changes, why, exactly, didn't Mouse just start with his "Patented ALARM! Bark" to wake Mrs. Spunklecrief and the upstairs people?

Because then Jim would have had to come up with some other way to break Harry's back...

Ah sorry, must have glanced passed him.

Ya I dunno, Ferro bugs me.  Him going to Bianca's "welcome to the court" party is like if Jesus showed up personaly at your Grade School Graduation.  Seems real fishy.

I've got  a question thats been bugging me for awhile, why was that Dragon (who from all the WoJ and such I've read could very well be the most powerful entity we have seen to date) at Bianca's party???

Done and Done, damn NYC hotels are pricey.  if it was just me I'd have stayed at a Hostel, but seeing as I'm planning the whole trip with apeassing the wife in mind I figured that would be a no go.  Now off to search for suitable copies of all the books to be signed! waahoooo.
