Well, the Olympic Games are over, the first ones without public in the stadiums. They were good (not for Argentina, who has a poor presentation, but at least we had silver in female hockey (our "leonas" are good) and bronze in Rugby 7 and male volleyball. Those were quite interesting, as we were not the favorites. Our men put a lot of effort and heart, so I am proud. I also proud of some people who did really good considering our story, for instance,  a 7th position in team equestry, or the 31 and 53 position in marathon (male) and a 60 something for our female representative.

So, it was not as bad as I expected, hopefully Paris 2024 will be better.
I don't remember who they were facing but I watched an Argentina Rugby game. It was fun to watch.
Overall the olympics was kind of sad with the lack of fans, but it was a much needed respite from the realities of the world right now. I loved watching badmitton and honestly was scared at how fast they reacted.

Thank you. I didn't know it. Always glad of new recommendations.
I think I might try them some day.

I didn't have time to watch the Olympics this year, I just read some news about it and saw a few seconds every now and then.
Hey Regen. I'm doing good. Just sort of chilling and stuff. How are you?

Both of my coworkers who cover the same region and technology went on independent vacations and caught covid a week apart, so i will be all by myself this week.

Also I'm reading the new High Republic book. Its good so far.

Ah, I know you like musicals very much.
We have some musicals, Broadway-style, especially for a man called Angel Mahler. If you can find his "Dracula", I think you may like it.
Thanks for the recommendation!!! I will look for it.

Hope everyone in the SHOV is doing well.

The sequel to the Book I just finished is called "A Radical Act of Free Magic" and it might just be one of my favorite book names ever.

Hope everyone in the SHOV is doing well. I am currently reading a book called "A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians" and its very interesting. It takes place in England and France and is set in the backdrop of the French Revolution. In it, only aristocrats are allowed to used the magic they were born with. The rest have these bracelets that burn them when they use magic. The various types of  magic are interesting and while it does spend a lot of time on politics it feels very fresh.

Oh, I bet there is a list.
You probably should ask someone who had done the job already. Besides knowing the list, they will probably have tips.
Thats a great idea. I know a guy who has been best man 4 times.

Oh, great news, GW! It is good to know your friend values you so much.
I am sure you will create amazing memories. And you will probably look very smart too  :)
Just don't forget the rings.
Thank you Dina. I'm definitely going to remember the rings. I need to make a list of things a Best Man is responsible for. I'm sure one exists.

I actually liked Brave New World. Not only because of the idea of cloning (which always interested me) but because of the "training" (not only because of Pavlovian conditioning but also as a social process to keep people happy with their lives). It was mainly a trigger for me for thinking some things. But the thing I was more interested was precisely which explained the name of the book. How enough social change can make old literature impossible to understand (even basic ideas like maternal love).

I wouldn't say I love the writing, but the ideas were very interesting.
I enjoyed Brave new world for the concepts not really the story. The idea of worshiping Ford was really interesting to me. The concept rocked.

Regen that's a good system. I'm sure they will make you proud however it shakes.

DC! Enjoy your vacation

In other news, one of my friends from the Navy asked me to be his best man. I'm very excited even though I was a bit shocked to be asked.

I actually been watching some Olympics. It will probably be our worst performance is a long time but it's all right. I admit being sad for Paula Pareto, our judoka. She is finishing her career, a wonderful one. She got gold in the last Olympics, but this year she will be back empty hands. Still, I saw her smile when she congratulated her winning rival, and she was delightful. As far as I can tell, she is a great, kind person. A doctor too, and she has been quite busy since the pandemics started.

I saw some beautiful artistics, Simone Biles and things like that, but I did not do it in an "organized" way, just let the TV on a sports channel.
Thats really good sportsmanship of her. Simone biles is just unmatched in her field.

Wathing badmitton right now. US mens got crushed. But fun to watch

Besides football, of course, I think my favorite are the artistic things. Gym, swim, skate, it the more artistic versions.
I'm a big fan of swimming events in the summer. Watching people do the high jump always makes me feel good, its like the the very first space race. :)

.
Jacka has finished the last Verus novel. It will be out in late November or early December depending on the version you buy.
Edit: ...and there is a good short story or novella called "Favours" from Sonder's POV. Currently he is working on a new series. Something different, but it will be urban fantasy, too.
Have you seen the Kitty Norville series? I'm not sure if I loved it, but i devoured all 14 books.
