« on: August 05, 2021, 02:42:45 PM »

Do we know (some-) or anything about the next book?
Almost an year since the 'last*' book (and remembering a time where I got to read an Dresden book once a year ;) )

* which got seperated into 2 (according to Jim).

Just looked at https://www.jim-butcher.com/ and there isn't even an name for the next one.

Any good theories about why Thomas attempted the assanination?
Not buying the, someone threatened his girlfriend theory of Harry.

Waiting for an big revelation on that point in the next book (or in an later one)...

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden basically rocks through Chicago on another epic magic filled tale. To order the book lift the door to the cellar under your rug and go to the mostly still destroyed Chicago setup on the table... look in the 3rd window of the 2nd building to the south of the old Water Tower... there's a working PC on the net in there... using a toothpick go to Amazon and order... the bokk'll already be downlaoded to your Kindle or sitting on your doorstep when you hit Place Order... couldn't be simpler... oh and don't mention how your place stays so clean...

Huh, did'nt know he is divorced...

but can't take it back because of the balance with Summer.

I think we can say now after Cold Days, the supposed balance between the courts is'nt there.
Mab could crush Summer anytime she wants. She would only need to let the outer gates without their guards.

And I'm pretty shure Mother Winter and Mother Summer arent two seperate entities.

And no reason that I can see to think it didn't take over that post, say from a capital-D Dragon or an Old One..

Another interpretation (for me) would be, the White God got to be the boss of the ArchAngels later,
after the humans belived long enough that he is the boss of the Archangels.

Why do you assume that Lasciel's job was related to spiders?

I did not. It was an example.
My first was: The isle Sardinia.

Belief Empowers Deities, not quite the same thing.  And thats just how it works for entities that have adopted those roles, like Odin or the Red King.  The WG was on the ground floor of Creation, by WOJ (as a corollary to the WOJ that says Uriel was the Senior VP of Creation)
What! We have WOJ that the White God really is the Creator in the DresdenVerse?
(And not good public relations.)

Even then Intellectus is not Intellectus.

I would suppose if all Angels and Fallen have Intellectus, their Intellectus would have something to do with their (former) job.
In other words a very limited Intellectus for the 'small' (without an Arch-) ones.

It would not help Lasciel much, to know everything about spiders.

Lets see - [Scal ---]  I read [Scal--] .  I read [….] and [Hagen?] for being able to write this beautiful poetic passages and then switch instantly to the gritty, pulpy action prose - I hate that guy!  He's really nice though.

Recently I've been reading [Brandon Chanderson?]  I finished Way of Kings this morning on the plane.  I thought it was a wonderful book.  I hope I can do happy fantasy that good at some point.
Pretty shure that should be John Scalzi, Patrick Rothfuss, no clue about that hagen and Brandon Sanderson.

Spirit's the trickiest of the bunch, no doubt, but it's still plenty vulnerable.  Its shields are the de facto standard but (unless they're a veil rather than a shield) they almost never stop light (such as Light Amplified by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) and probably don't stop air, heat, or massive electrical discharge.
Depending on the Shield. I could see ways for an Spirit/Force shield to protect against those things.

Quote
They definitely don't help when The Building Is On Fire.
Use Spirit to go to the NeverNever.

Quote
They can't keep you from becoming Magically Grounded by the running water from a nearby burst pipe/fire hydrant.
Not even water can do that, right?

Quote
There's not much spirit can do to directly counter increased or decreased gravity.
Use Spirit to backtrack the magic to its source?

DFRPG / Re: Selling magic items?
« on: September 01, 2010, 10:46:59 AM »
another idea i had would let people take a form of refinement for nothing but item slots.

+1

An Magic item needs an Magic Item Slot.
Normally that would be the creator.
If the creator makes one for another Char. and doesnt want to use his own Item Slots, then the other Char. need to take an Refinement for Item Slots.

Richard

Are you arguing for the Lawbreaker stunt?
Because what you describe, can be explained by an Aspect as well.
She was out of Fate points and couldnt resist the compell.

And I wouldnt allow to exchange an Lawbreaker aspect with an non-Lawbreaker aspect.
