That would have made sense.  Has Harry told Thomas that Eb is his Grandfather?

I have to believe Thomas knows who his mother was. And that papa Raith and Lara know too.

92
I think for several books or the impression I get anyway, that Harry would have loved to have told
Eb earlier, but he also knew Eb's attitude towards vampires.  What is interesting is that Eb never figured it out, especially given the events in Changes and the bloodline curse..

Maybe Eb thinks his grandson was killed by Raith, who usually killed his male heirs?

She could be Lash, but then one has to wonder if because of her sacrifice, Heaven gave her a shot at redemption by turning her into Bonea?

Reincarnation? Of Lash, as Bonea, as opposed to a spark of Lasciel?

I am on pain medication for a broken wrist, surgery tomorrow, I just remember the scenes, I couldn't remember books or order really.

Ouch! Good luck!

Every other known associate or apprentice of Kemmler is now dead, the last being Corpsetaker in Ghost Story.

Emphasis mine.

KNOWN

Didn't we have a WOJ we had met Cowl before, well before Nameless?

Missing the Walkers, no?

Hard to place them, given we've only seen them up against a starborn, but I'd figure they're probably right up in the top tier against anything else.

I mentioned HWWB, said top 10 at worst, maybe top 5. I think he loses to Uriel and Michael (the archangels mentioned or seen), and the Mothers. After that, not as clear if anyone beats him. Ferrovax? Maybe, but is HWWB holding back like Ferro is, to be allowed in reality? things like that are unclear

But, I take your point -- there is no "I quit" clause in the Mantle.

Didn't Mab's predecessor walk away?

These two have been rivals for centuries, they have thrown down before, but likely before Eb took up the Blackstaff.

Perhaps, but if they are obeying the Laws, they won't kill each other with magic - so Eb might have had openings he could not exploit

Eb’s a combat specialist, Langtry a defensive specialist so it would be a dead heat, both would die from heatstroke simultaneously from their exertions in a face off.

We don't know if his defense is as good as Eb's offense. Langtry might be a generalist, very good at many things, better than Eb at 9 out of 10 - but #10 is duelling/combat. Whoever wins the Olympic decathlon is usually considered the world's greatest athlete. Doesn't mean he can get in the ring with the guy who won the heavyweight boxing title.

Great list but Merlin is the strongest wizard, rashid the most dangerous and Eb the guy you don't mess with. Not sure how to link a woj the supports this. If anyone has the link.
Lea is probably above eldest gruff but just slightly

OP did say combat. Eb is better than Langtry at combat. Don't think he has the mind talking and maybe not as good at wards/force fields. Eb was impressed at Harry's.

Rashid... I think he might have a few cards up his sleeve. I'm not so sure he is not the most powerful. He tells Harry he was ready to kill him like it was going to be easy

I don't think Peabody was SC material. They could have used him to weaken the SC to get their guy in, but if you look at it... he's a clerk. a Supreme court clerk has to be very knowledgeable, but they don't usually get the job - it's a stepping stone.  He's a beancounter/paperpusher. And if they put him on the Council... they lose a mole. That little gray man who is trusted may hear more than an actual SC member - because he deals with all of them.

As to who could have been Warden? What have we seen the Warden DO? Jail Ethniu? So he can't work beyond the Chicago waterfront? LaF could have been loyal and trustworthy and been in the job years before Morgan came along. Morgan could have done the job - whatever else, he was loyal. But... Eb speaks of trusting Harry's judgement - does that mean the Warden may have to break rules now and then? Morgan is not that guy. He might stretch one - he didn't turn in Molly - but not the way to usually bet

I'd flip Lucifer and Michael. Michael did have an army at his back when they ran L out.

Note for an asterisk - HUGE power but limited latitude - that Angel of Death said Lucifer couldn't stop her on a mission.

Not sure Hades under Ethniu. The Greek gods overthrew the Titans - Hades is Zeus' brother. they cast lots for their realms with Poseidon, so no one was SO far above the others he got to choose. So he's close to Zeus level.

Ivy is above the Ladies. I think Harry says as much to Luccio. She is closer to  Queen level, maybe slightly short. Maybe even beats Lea and Eldest Gruff.

Naag is too high. LtW was beating it. He could have lost later, but he WAS winning.  I think Eb and Rashid beat it, and Langtry at least stalemates him.

I just have a hunch the Gatekeeper has a few tricks up his robe. I think he might beat even Eb.

Marcone and Harry are too high, at least yet. Senior Council beats. Harry lost to the Naag that LtW was beating.

Knights are too high.

Mouse is way low. He threatened LEA one on one, and she said he was too far from his power. So.. in range of power, she thinks he wins? He does not seem the kind for idle threats - he thinks he hands her ass to her. Uriel also noted him. He scares Nic.

Latessa takes Dumb Muscle Ursiel. Dierdre is good hand to hand, but she's not taking ANY SC. Martha and Mai has to be higher.

I don't know if Klaus is combat oriented, or device oriented. He also might be senior to a few SC. Didn't they pass him to get to Eb? I just don't think he wants to deal with the politics.

Cat Sith has to be higher. Carlos is kitty litter if they fight. The question is if he can take the Knight. He thinks he can. He may be right.

Some groups are too broad - Heirs? Corpsetaker beat Luccio, and I think she would have taken Harry or Morgan.  Doesn't mean all the heirs are that good.

Black Court? Mavra is nasty. Take her over Morgan, Luccio, and Carlos. Maybe Winter Knight Harry beats her, but not the previous one. Again, the others may be less.

Luccio I think in the old body was better than Morgan or Harry - not as much raw power, but skill, with that fire laser.

You left out the likes of Mort, who some rate as above Harry, Tera West - certainly above the Alphas, and the Angels in that Limbo waystation - one shut Harry's Sight with a casual gesture. That showed a good amount of juice. Sounds top 10,15 at worst.  Cowl is a heavy hitter missing. Likely above Eb? Or maybe not missing. HWWB is top 10 at worst, maybe top 5. Below Mothers, probably below titan.

No, the Gatekeeper clearly states on page 385 of TC (soft cover) "The ley line you speak of does not go through the island," he said. "This is where it wells up. The island is its source."

The Island. Not the beings. We heard that Edinburgh is also a nexus. Chichen Itza. I think they look at the lines like settlers may have once seen a waterfall. Hey, there's a place I can build a mill! Water power will grind my grain! Steel towns popped up around coal. We know the stones of the buildings have power infused - Merlin likely tapped the Well. Maybe they STILL tap the Well for power. Maybe Merlin harnessed that power to create Alfred... maybe it powers Alfred, and that is why he needs to stay near/on the island.

The Lines draw the building of the Wizard HQ, or Demonreach. Or Itza. The prisoners don't generate them.

The Swords can’t kill the Fallen only the hosts. The noose protects Nick, not Anduriel. The Fallen can heal their host and can stem the ravages of time.

Didn't say kill the Fallen, said kill Nic.

If immortals were so easy to kill Demonreach wouldn’t exist. We know:-

1. All immortals can be killed on Halloween (immortals do not like this to be known)
2. The Faerie Queens can be killed on the Stone Table
3. Repeated blasts from the Eye of Baelor can kill an immortal, probably by breaking reality in relation to them and their immortality.
Do we know ALL immortals can be killed on Halloween? We know the Fae court. Are Angels vulnerable? The Fallen? Hades?

If ALL immortals were killable on Halloween, I would expect traditional executions on Demonreach on Halloween. Harry could take a Naag out, have it stand facing the water, which itself is no threat, and shoot it in the back of the head.

Indeed there is no reason for Michael not to think that he killed Sirriothrax rather than disincorporate him, Harry only finds out about killing immortals in Summer Knight because Bob found out this information and had to flee Winter. Ferro isn’t going to set him straight and it may explain why he was so forgiving of Michael in GP he knew Sirriothrax had only been disincorporated and not killed or imprisoned in Demonreach, and would be back. Michael is less clued into the supernatural than Harry, so he wouldn’t know.

and what reason do we have to think that discorporation is real? Ferro might simply be following rules he agreed to to be allowed into reality. If Siriothrax was a business matter for the Knights, their high-ups may frown on taking revenge. Though if Michael oversteps, Ferro might be allowed such.  Have we seen anything from this side of the Gates that just comes back and re-forms a body? And we never heard the body vanished. HWWB is an Outsider, rules may not apply there.

Why do we presume Merlin or the Dragons created the ley line network around Demonreach? Maybe the network was not created by Merlin when he built the jail, maybe Merlin built the jail here BECAUSE the ley lines were here. Like founding New York because there was a good harbor there. They didn't build the harbor.  They wanted to settle, and decided "This harbor looks good. We'll go here". Merlin sees Lake Michigan as a moat, defuses a lot of the magic of someone approaching. Has ley lines as a power source.
Looks like a good building site!

I'm not sure Michael could not kill Siriothrax - heck, in later cases, he seems to think that maybe it could kill Nic. He's more aggressive with Nic, less defensive. Nic can be killed by the Noose. Divinely endowed? Siriothrax may be immortal to HUMAN weapons, but the Swords are divine.

Do we know that Naag came back from the A bomb? I was assuming they are not immortal, just semi-immortal, and it might be a fission bomb is enough.
