 :o

What a way to make sure everyone reads Peace Talks when it comes out!

I did like it, it was sweet and sad.

Just caught a mention of this on Twitter.

Having trouble accessing the link to it. I'll keep trying.

Good maen everyone!
I know, Tami  :'(

I was happy to see Don was here  :)

Otlan, thanks for the info about the games. And I found yucca quite meh. It's relatively common in the North East of my country.

I was delighted to hear that the InSight finally did a good Mars landing and it is sending pictures. I am always amazed by that kind of things. I know this is a USA milestone but I still think it's an achievement of humanity, as I am sure the NASA team had people from several nations. People is beginning to talk about actually going to Mars, and it is so exciting!

I agree about inSight. It's going to send back some amazing scientific data.

Good to see there is still activity going on. Until the next book comes out, there isn't much DF left to talk about.

Fox is the worst place for the series to end up. He should have held out for a more reliable studio.

Hi, sorry I haven't been around. I've been busy lately. Glad to see the forum up and running.

Recently finished reading it, though I didn't see much discussion about the stories within it.

Anyone else read it yet?

DF Comic Books / Re: Dog Men

I agree it is probably the worst of the series. Still hoping that the next one is better. I suspect that Jim Butcher had less of a role in the making of Dog Men than he has had in the past with other comic stories. If so, that could explain why it came out so poorly.

The act of creation was at the point where Harry was held fast by the will of the Outsiders in the Grotto and Lash sacrificed herself to allow him to act.  It was her one act of selfless love -- and thus the spark of creation in this matter.  Whether Uriel helped or not is irrelevant in my mind.  She choose.

I would agree that Lasciel's sacrifice was the moment it happened.

DF Spoilers / Re: Marcone's Age @ SF
« on: October 02, 2017, 03:35:42 AM »
I've always had the feeling that Marcone was approximately 10 years older than Harry, 34-36 age range as of SF.

I've always heard it as Original Gangster.  Though that may not be what is meant here.

I suspect the word 'Gangster' isn't meant to be taken literally anymore. OG as 'Original Gangster' refers to someone who was a founding member of a gang. So OG, in the broad sense, refers to an original member of something, possibly even the founder.

For OG Merlin it's just a way of saying the Original Merlin/Merlin the Original Founder of the organization [White Council].

Is the reason you can only get to the moon through the never never because that is as far as people have gone? It would make sense given that the beings in the never never need to be thought of by people to have a connection to this world.

That sounds like a good theory to me.

Just thought that rendering a person powerless is far more humane than killing them.

DF Spoilers / Can a Wizard's Powers be Stolen or Taken permanently?

If there was a way to do it you'd think that the White Council would use it often to disarm dangerous magic users.
